We arrived late during a snow storm but were met by enthusiastic staff and an attentive waitress. My wife and I are vegetarians but found the menu to be exceptionally accommodating. The chef even prepared the chicken penne in a vegetarian way. The nature burger was spicy and tasty, the fish and chips my daughter ate were hot and crispy and my wife raved about the Penne. The beer and wine selection were excellent and the dessert sinfully good, (we shared the warm brownie sundae). I would highly recommend visiting.

We have been to the Black Dog a few times now and love it. The atmosphere is good, the food is good, and they have live Jazz music on Thursday and Saturday nights. I'm not a big fan of the "going nowhere" kind of Jazz but the last time we went there the music was fantastic!
I've never had any problem with the food except for 1 time when I had the schnitzel, personally would not have it again. It was greasy, too thick, overcooked, hard to chew, and worst of all, hard to digest. Everything else that myself and others with me have ever ordered has been great!
In fact, once when they ran out of sweet potato fries (my favorite), the Manager went a long way to correct the problem. The staff is friendly, good atmosphere, good food, and good service....what`s not to like?
I adored this restaurant for a few reasons:
1. Great ambiance - nice relaxing atmosphere with a fireplace. Not too dark, not too light and best of all, it was clean!
2. This is the ideal place to eat if you have mixed company. By that I mean vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. The menu was delightful with more than enough choices for us vegans.
3. Not too fancy but nice, with a jazz band playing Thursday to Sunday.
I highly recommend this, and we plan on going again and again!

Very impressed!! Amazing quality food that you'd normally find 'downtown'. We will definitely be back. Our 4th time here and never disappointed. Flowers on the patios are beautiful!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Staff are so polite and welcoming.
