We had an absolutely atrocious meal last night at at Mykonos. The pork souvlaki was overcooked, dry and tasteless, the lamb in the lamb pita dish was dry, very tough and basically inedible and the seafood grill was a meagre serving and not at all as advertised. The roast potatoes were very dry, the salad was limp with a light shaving of feta and tasteless dressing and the basmati rice was soggy and a completely inappropriate accompaniment for a Greek meal.
The bread and wine were fine.
My husband and I are not fans of chain restaurants and are always looking for a family owned place to eat. I am so glad we chose Mykonos last night. The service was great, very friendly with good suggestions on what to try. I ordered the vegetarian platter so I could try a little bit of everything and I loved everything on the plate. My husband had the chicken souvlaki and said it was very good. For dessert we shared a custard topped with phyllo that was very yummy. Try the Greek beer, it is very light and suits the food well. I would highly recommend this restaurant, food was very good and high quality, service was friendly and though the tables are a little cramped together the atmosphere was wonderful. You could tell there were a lot of regulars as everyone was talking to each other and truly enjoying their meals.
First time visit so I was really looking forward to it. It was a busy Friday night and the sitting was quite cramped. As it was very cold and wet we chose not to sit out on the covered patio. The interior was okay -- very basic, like eating at your aunt's house but I loved the open kitchen. Food was wonderful -- grilled cod, roasted potatoes, the salad was just okay. The others had grilled shrimp (amazing) the veggie platter (huge and good) and fish and chips (hard to mess up and they didn't) It was the service that was the pits. We had an older lady who was direct and blunt in everything she said -- no happy smile or suggestions, everything was 'yes sir' 'no sir' the food was good but Mythic Grill beats them hands down
I used to love going here for the food as it was close to my favourite place in Toronto - Christina's. Sadly, in the past few years, the quality has really suffered. Everything seems to come right out of the microwave and heated unevenly and soggy. A real shame
