I always enjoy the menu at Milestones. I have one concern. The wine list unbelievably does not have ONE Ontario wine in its selection of wines that are all international. Its hard to believe that in our Niagara region we produce some of the worlds best wines at very good prices and Milestones doesn't have even one red and white available. We started our visit via the internet to get a feel for the restaurant. We were curious to see the prices and any other information we could gather. We found the website to be user friendly and included day and evening menus with prices. We called to inquire about reservations and the hostess that answered was friendly and well informed. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the same hostess that answered the phone and accommodated us with the window seat that we had asked for. Walking in the atmosphere was warm and inviting with an amazing view of the Niagara Falls. Our waitress was pleasant and professional in all aspects of her job. She frequently stopped by to talk with us and ensure that our visit was a pleasant one. Her attention to us did not waiver even as the restaurant got busier. The food was fresh and exceeded all our expectations, right down to the butter. The steaks were prepared exactly the way we ordered them and the baked potato was superb. Overall this restaurant was outstanding, dinner was delicious, view was exquisite, service was amazing and we had a wonderful time. Even a snowstorm doesn't keep Toronto diners down, as we discovered last weekend at Jump in January. It was quieter than usual due to the weather, but our food was very good. We had an extremely affable waiter from England. The service started out a bit slow, with water poured and wine ordered but 25 minutes before some bread arrived. If we hadn't been so hungry beforehand we might not have noticed. Otherwise, the food was excellent. The Bacon-Wrapped Boneless Quail appetizer was absolutely delicious. The Wild & Tame Mushroom Soup was good, but as we told our server, it needed some cream to give it more depth and round out the taste. The Mahogany-Glazed Black Cod with Lentils was very good, and my partner had the delicious Beef Tenderloin. We'll come back again, but the pacing is a bit slow, so you can't be in a hurry if you're dining here. Read more

When it comes to fine dining, Lord Nelsons definitely does not disappoint. With delicious food and quality service, I would have to say this is one of the classiest restaurants in the Hamilton area. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the warming and peaceful atmosphere. There are only a handful of tables and a bar in the whole restaurant and it makes for a almost private and intimate dinner experience. This is not a jeans and t-shirt type of place, everyone inside is dressed professional and fancy. I would recommend a dress and heels for the women and dress pants and button down shirt for the men. And obviously from my previous statements this is not really what I would call a family restaurant. With the close tables and quiet music I would think children would feel out of place at an establishment like this. Nonetheless I feel like it is a great date night place, very romantic and relaxing. The menu I would say is perfect for the restaurant. It includes a variety of different meal choices but doesn't overwhelm the customer. We had chosen the Peppercorn steak and the Filet mignon for our main courses. I would say that they were better then what I expected, cooked and seasoned perfectly, I would definitely recommend there food to anyone. The main courses range anywhere from $20 - $60 which is a little higher then your average dinner but in the end I think it is worth the little extra price for the quality. The only concern I had about going here was their location. It was a little difficult to find as it is located in a small plaza tucked away beside a laundromat. Also the exterior of the restaurant is not what you would expect for a high class place like this, and I didn't find it all that appealing. The front doors are very Castle like and there are no windows at all. At first glance I thought it was closed. But if you can get past that It was great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. I go here fairly regularly because this place does it up right. It's not a huge place and gets packed fairly easily, so there have been times when I simply haven't gotten in, but you snooze you lose. It is in an old victorian style home, taking up both floors. Downstairs seats a few tables and the main bar, while upstairs hosts a more casual atmosphere of games, chairs, etc....like you are in someones home. Decor is eclectic and funky, provides a nice touch to the visit. Service is always good to above average, the staff are trained well, know their beers well enough, and are always smiling. I've eaten here too many times to mention, but the wings are great, as is the cajun catfish sandwich. The wings are a great portion and the sauces are excellent. The catfish sandwich is spicy,savoury, very flavourful, well portioned, and well priced. I like that they have Boneshaker on tap on a regular basis. In fact, they only serve craft beer which speaks to the quality of the establishment. Clientele is a mix of somewhat obnoxious college hipsters and hippies that think they are re-living Woodstock for some reason, but I don't have to like them to like the place. Keep up the great work!
