On Brock Street in Whitby, just a couple of kilometres north of the historic Four Corners, is a large restaurant whose potential lay untapped until restaurateurs Chris and Russ bought it in 2009. They opened The Brock House, a “Muskoka cottage meets Whistler chalet,” and have been serving the people of Whitby good food ever since.
At The Brock House, the menu features such tasty items as shrimp and lobster pot pie, sweet potato gnocchi, pizza (gluten-free dough available) and lamb shank - all served in an inviting environment with exposed brick walls and that cozy chalet feel.

My family took me here for my birthday and I was impressed. Food wasn't overly fancy but it's a notch above simple pub fair. We enjoyed the appetizers and my meal seemed very fresh. It's family friendly! I brought my kids and noticed other families being treated well. Next time I get a sitter, I'm heading to the Brock House.
We like the casual rustic feel, that has a little bit of fine dining-esque vibe, not sure what exactly. Definitely not the paper napkins! Please, please The Brock House, splurge for laundry service - your prices already say you do..... Service was friendly, but very slow with a disappearing waitress. Where does she go? We were nevertheless served before the table beside us, who were already seated with folded menus. Yikes. Food was not bad. The coconut shrimp were thickly covered with crisp coconut - excellent. But the sesame chili dipping sauce was neither sesame nor chili - it was honey. Warm, pure honey. Not really the bath what I wanted or expected for these crisp shrimp, The caesar salad dressing was flavourful, but not well mixed on the salad - it was in disappointing clumps with naked lettuce everywhere. And it was huge- large enough for two as an appetizer. The pizza was fine - was fun watching it being made - the view from our table. The beef was very tender. The pasta was good, creamy and well flavoured. Desserts were great - something chocolate and something caramel-y - very good! We'll probably avoid this place on a Saturday night, given the shaky service, but the ambience and the menu are worth a return.
Brock House is a fabulous restaurant!! I would absolutely recommend the Brock House for any special occation or just a regular night out! I had a work function there last week, we had about 30+ people attend, the staff was exceptional, and the food was absolutely delicious. They made the experience worth while! Everyone in my department loved there meal which was so refreshing to hear. I have had many experiences with restaurants where its hard to book for larger parties; I felt the Brock House was extremely accommidating! They put us in a beautiful private room where it was nice and intimate for our function. Not only was the staff extremely friendly and efficient but our food came in great time; even being with a larger party. Overall, I am very very happy with my experience and would like to thank the exceptional staff and chef at the Brock House for making it memorable. This will be one of my top picks in Durham Region!! Thankyou.
My boyfriend and I visit the Brock House on a regular basis. We love sitting at the bar. The decor and ambiance is so warm and inviting. We enjoy speaking with our servers who are always friendly and have a warm smile. It's nice when we walk in the hosts or servers greet us with smile or a hello. I think we've eaten everything on the menu by this point and haven't been disappointed yet. The thing we love most about the restaurant is how they're always trying new things. From the changing tapas menu to the women and wine event which is amazing. I've been a couple times and it's such a wonderful night out with the girls. We also did the Oktoberfest night which was such a blast to do with all our friends. Only "complaint" from my boyfriend is there's not enough "night out's| for the guys. We'd love to see more of those! The price is right for tons of food and drink. We are regulars at Hot Rocks and Shrimp Cocktail and knew when Brock House opened it wouldn't disappoint. Keep up the great work, you have yet to let us down!!
My wife and I have eaten at the Brock house at least 10 times . I like the menu and atmosphere is very inviting . The staff are very professional and you are always greeted with a warm smile . The size of portion is very substantial , if you are hungrey this is the place to eat. That said they do offer value meals which are of the same food preparation quailty while smaller in size ..Keep up the good work ...See you soon
