These folks are great. They carry a ton of higher end gear. They are knowledgeable, friendly and will bend over backwards to help you out. I wanted a cinevate slider, and within a week, the had called up Cinevate, who didn't want any more dealers, convinced them to give them a dealership agreement. Ordered the items I wanted, had them shipped and got them in by the deadline I set. Service is hard to find these days. But not here. Give them a try next time before you head over to Henrys/Vistek.
I spent many years employed in the photographic field and I know what to expect when getting prints made. I used Bj photo and I was wildly dissapointed.
I brought in 3 pictures. The pictures were taken with strobe lighting at the same shutter speed, iso and aperture setting. When my prints came out all 3 were printed at different densities.
I went back into the store and brought this up with one of the staff. The staff seemed more than happy to correct the issue, and then the owner stepped in. He felt it important to tell me that they did nothing wrong and it was my fault for not telling him to print them all the same..
I am upset at a few things. First I paid significantly more there than I would elsewhere. Secondly, the fact that the owner felt it so important to correct me, and lastly the fact that he had no clue what he was talking about as it was the auto correction in his system that caused the problem..
Each of these pictures look exactly the same on my calibrated monitor. The reprints were better, but still off.. I told him how dissapointed I was he didnt seem to care. There was no attempt to make up for the bad experience.
I strongly reccomend going elsewhere for printing. The owner of Bj photo is unprofessional, he does not care about customer retention and the quality of service does not fulfill the expectation created by the price they charge.
