The corner lot on Queen Street West proper is abuzz with patrons by 5:30 pm, some lining up along the oversized cement bar with German dunkels and local craft brews, and some tucking in at communal tables for feast-like platters of schnitzel and currywurst.

Thomas Masmejean, co-founder of Otto’s Bierhalle puts it simply: “We fell in love with Berlin when we visited, and we wanted to bring a piece of it back with us.”

Otto’s Bierhalle is a lively restaurant located on Queen West. Dine on traditional German cuisine for dinner during the week and brunch on weekends. Enjoy schnitzel and waffles, bratwurst, rouladen and more. It wouldn’t be a beerhall without the beer – it has more than 20 beers on tap.

Where do Brits turn when they have an unyielding desire for baked beans and black pudding? None other than The Bristol. This curry house, pub and “classic fry” joint has become the place across-the-pond transplants can rely on for thick-cut rashers, homemade beans on toast and pud. And by the way, a Pimm’s Cup at brunch is totally warranted.
