While many Torontonians still view St. Clair West as an up-and-coming area, New Paramount Studios has been capturing the neighbourhood’s evolving aesthetic since 1972, photographing locals and non-locals alike.
“We’ll show the city — that urban look — in many of our photographs,” says JonCarlo Lista, the studio’s current owner and president. “If it’s a family photograph outside, we’re going to Wychward Barns. If it’s an engagement couple that wants a really slick urban image, we’ll take them over to the back alleys, fire escape or graffiti walls. Maybe if it’s a businessperson that wants a city photo, we’ll shoot them right on the street.”
Not pleased with the service I have received. Had my university graduation photo taken today and was extremely rushed. The photographer did dictated the poses I was to hold, not asking for my input at all. The poses/ positions that I was told to hold were also ridiculously uncomfortable. At the end of the shoot I asked to see the pictures, and when I was displeased with them I asked to have 1 more quickly taken, as I payed $25 to be there, I was told no. Overall extremely dissatisfied.
We had family photos done during the yellow pages support the neighborhood event. They were the worst photos I've ever seen. The photographers were very nice people, but the poses and photos were like sears circa 1980. Recommend taking your own photos vs going here.
