I have always experienced very good service from the receptionist & an excellent medical attention from my family Doctor
Absolutely horrible receptionist. I have been seeing my doctor for over 20 years and he is amazing, unfortunately in the last few years the receptionist has been an absolute disaster. The hours around which they answer the phones are limited and I often get a busy signal. When I eventually do get through she is rude, tries to get me off the phone as soon as possible and is annoyed when I ask a question. Not sure how she still has a job there.
the phone service is terrible... when they say press 3 for hours... the hours aren't read... and the line never seems to be open for calling also there is no webpage pertaining to the clinic so good luck finding out basic information no phone... no webpage... no way to get in touch... they are like a lost ship at sea slowly sinking with no life raft... clearly customer service isn't a priority... i'll be taking my billable's somewhere else
Perhaps she is new a doctor, and only wants to deal with everyday illness, it is however, no excuse for the severe lack of compassion or beside manners. Even my GI is frustrated with her lack of helpfulness, so I know it's not just me. She has been extremely rude to my husband as well after he asked for psychological help to deal with my ongoing illness. After he broke down in her office asking for help, she said that he didn't seem happy with her clinic, and if he still wanted to be her patient.... Right after he just begged her for help! I recently had major abdominal surgery performed, which she was completely uninvolved with. I did however, make a follow up appointment with her anyways once I got out of the hospital. My husband also had a psychologist appointment after my appointment with Dr. Forbes. We waited in an exam room for a half hour before we left, as I was still quite immobile from my surgery, as well, my husband needed to be at his other appointment. It is now the Christmas holidays, and Dr. Forbes is not working until the new year. She did, however, make a point to have her receptionist call me today, to speak to me as though I am a child, which I do not appreciate. She said that Dr. Forbes doesn't think I still want to be a patient because I haven't bothered to follow up with her. As I stated, she has been completely hands off in terms of treating me, and the appointment that I made with her was merely a courtesy. So I followed up with my surgeon, and have a follow up with my GI in the new year. Since the beginning of her treating us, she constantly insinuates that she does not want to be our doctor, and for us to find someone else. She had her receptionist say it again to me today... Two days after Christmas, how thoughtful of her. I plan on speaking with the senior physician at her clinic, and if need be, filing a complaint with the College of Physicians. I Wrote this review on my phone, so I apologize for any typos.
My experience was with only doctor Gustafsson, so if you are attended by a different physician, this review may be of diminished validity. I have been seeing Dr. Gustafsson as my family doctor for over 20 years. The office was clean and attendants friendly, not excessively formal - it felt like a family practice. The wait time was a little long to see Gustafsson (I waited 30 minutes for a room and almost another 30 minutes for the doctor), but as soon as you meet Dr. Gustafsson, you immediately find out why. Quite simply, the man listens. He listens to everything you have to say, then checks that against everything in your medical records. He is very well read and knows a very broad range of medical conditions. I have never had him dismiss any of my own medical concerns and he has been very thorough with answers and forthcoming with information. On the rare occasion that he does not understand something, he will clearly indicate so and happily refer you to another doctor competent in the relevant field. Demand for this doctor is unsurprisingly very high, but so long as you don't mind waiting an extra hour or so to see him, he will always hear you out and he will always give you very sound medical advice. While I cannot speak out of experience regarding the other doctors, I find it difficult to believe that a practitioner of the calibre of Dr. Gustafsson's would allow himself to be associated with quacks or medical hacks.
