Milestones on Brant Street is one of the best restaurants, never mind JUST Milestones that I have been too. The food is amazing, Alex and John are the managers and they clearly have their pHDs on how to run this business. The staff are beyond accommodating....Michael, Jay, Andre, Michael, Heather, John, Jeff....I could go on and on. They always have smiles on their faces even though they are running from client to client. The new look is amazing. Rebecca
Fellow who sat us and waiter who served us were not pleasant. The four meals were mediocre. The mussels were small and tasteless. The fabric on the booth seats was very worn. Best part of the meal was the wine. Nicely, three other servers wished us a good evening as we left. We won't go back.
We ordered three prime rib dinners and one pasta dish. The pasta dish was excellent, fresh and delicious. The prime rib (all three) were overpriced and a mess. The first was ordered well done, but tasted 'tough'. The second was ordered medium, but was practically still bleeding when delivered to the table. The third was ordered medium and delivered as very pink inside. It was sent back and re-delivered, replaced by a new prime rib entree. The meat was almost 50% fat, unedible and being the chef's cut, was a waste of $27. The sides were good (except the roasted potatoes which tasted like they were soft, sweet and old) and the waitress was professional and pleasant. Unfortunately, three of the meals were unacceptable. We went to Milestones expecting to pay good money for good food, but in the end we were left wondering how an establishment dare price their meals so high. The only good thing I have to say is the staff were very accommodating and the manager was gracious enough to come to our table and apologize for the inferior food. He also omitted two of the prime rib entrees from our bill which softened the disappointment of our 'dinner out', but it's a shame that such a 'higher end' restaurant chain would not implement higher standards on their menu items. The atmosphere and decor are very nice, the staff are professional and well trained, so now here's a message for all you head office people: You need to focus on the real 'meat' of your business and get your act together when selecting quality ingredients and when pricing your menu items. You also need to recognize that your wine is very over-priced which insults diners and only makes your restaurant look cheap and greedy. Milestones is a nice looking place, but one should never judge a book by its cover as a restuarant's business is built mainly on it's reputation for good food. Please also note that your menus are bulky and too heavy to hold comfortably. If you made improvements in these areas I'd be happy to enjoy the appealing ambiance your restaurant offers.
I took my husband out for dinner on Sunday and we were looking forward to a nice time. The hostess didn't even make eye contact with us, but then looked me up and down and then took us to our table, dropped the menus on it and left without a word. The server (can't remember her name) long curly dark hair in a ponytail made a rude comment, refused to look at me, addressed my husband as sir, only responded when he thanked her and plunked my drink in front of me without looking at me. She only spoke to him and didn't wait for my responses to anything. She was an absolute idiot and my husband called her on it. He figured she thought he was paying and therefore was giving the attention to him. Big mistake. I was paying. We won't go there again. People who work in customer service should learn to be polite to the people paying to visit their establishments, especially when the people have extended every possible courtesy to you.
Went here a few months ago. The place is nice save the bar seating which is falling apart. Other than our drinks at the bar waiting for a table this night was a waste. Worst service ever, no server in sight, mains come to table before apps were cleared, same for drinks. Caesar salad was embarassing just lettuce, a few bullet hard croutons, dressing, mabye they could try a bit harder. The calamari however was ok, tender, but overwhelming spiced garnish. Burger was good, though I ordered it to play it safe. The steak was horible, over-cooked, mabye AA beef. Bottom line, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK EVER.
