Sonny's Drive In welcomes you to their dining room. They are open late Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and during week-ends. You can get there not only by car but also by public transit. The surrounding location is remarkable for its parks and restaurants.
Terrible service, terrible food, terrible staff, terrible owner. Such an unprofessional environment. If you're Caucasian, you'll probably love it because they'll treat you like royalty here.
Ive been going to Sonnys since 1976 and when I left Brampton in 1990 I always looked forward to my return visits But the last few years since the fire and the retirement of the original owners has left me disappointed.
The fries are lousy (used to be the best) there not home made anymore as I witnessed the owner bringing them in from his car.
All original customers remember watching the process of the fries being cut and blanched as we waited for our orders during afternoon visits oh those days are gone now I wont be back!
No reason unless they start doing the fries the old way(the machine is still in the back)
I been eating sonnys since I was a pup!! It use to be the landmark of brampton. The king of all food in brampton! But not anymore. I will never forget when sonnys had a big fire years ago and the whole town went into panic! Then they made there big come back! And it was a short rein. This use to be the best french fries in the world hands down. Now they taste like a cheap downgraded pree blanched potato. A lot of these places think half cooking there fries and throwing them in for a minute b4 order is the same thing as cooking them fresh but its not! They now have the chalky partially undercooked frozen taste and anyone who's been eating here for a while can tell. I know sonnys has a hudge volume of business for the small space their in but I believe this ruiend them. I never been big on their burgers I find them basic. They taste like harveys 2 me. How hard is it to cook a decent burger, heat up a bun on the grill, and make crispy fries? Obviously impossible if you're the line cook at sonny's. Just absolutely awful. Perfect restaurant for the uninformed and inebriated.
This is one of the best places for a burger in Brampton. Yes, it is $$$ for food there, but worth every penny. I say you get what you pay for. Portions are great, and the only bad thing I can say about them is they only take cash and no Interac.
