Midway Diner

Great place 2 go 4 an all day breakie! Don't let the outside of it turn u away as its not a 'dive'! When I speak 2 others about it the constant response I get is ...'it's looks like a 'dive' & looks like it would be dirty in there!' NEVER judge a book by its cover especially when it come 2 this place as I had that idea..then walked in 2 c 4 myself!!

Midway Diner and Debb's Place are the key college hangover cures in Barrie, although Midway is my fav breakfast in town. Small, not always the cleanest (mainly just the bathroom) but the food/portions/service are great. Has a good Canadian feel, no one is pushy and they usually seem have a decent looking waitress. Get the Midway Platter!

Today was a great breakfast...and service ( I know Midway can be different service at times). The owner/cook actually served me today, and it was excellent. I will go back. Portions seem to be bigger and better quality than last time.

We've been to this place a few times over the years...although it's been around forever and it's a bit "older" looking in its decor, the food has always been fairly decent. Nothing exceptional or "wow", but consistenly okay. I just felt compelled to write about the service, because it's become noticeable that each time we go, the (different) servers seem sullen, slow and reluctant to smile at all...wondering what could be going on behind the scenes to make the Midway seemingly such a depressing place to work? That's all!

We came in for breakfast/lunch. We only get one hour for lunch, and for some inexplicable reason, lunch never came! We ordered, and waited, and waited and finally, we simply had to go back to work. The guys stayed behind and had our food packed and brought back to work for us. No apologies, no goodwill gesture, no returning customers.
