“At Driftwood Dance Academy, we are committed to providing quality dance education in a positive environment to inspire confident movers,” says Laura Killeen, who co-owns the North Vancouver dance school with Jen Cole. “It’s a place where people can feel safe, supported and free to become their best.”
Learning to dance at Driftwood Dance Academy is about more than memorizing steps or repeating a series of exercises, Laura adds—it’s about growing as a person and developing the skills and confidence to honestly and openly express yourself through movement.
“Jen and I both have very strong technical training, and our love of teaching dance goes back to our mentors and our own learning experiences,” Laura explains. “We’ve had several wonderful teachers that have taught us so many meaningful lessons in dance and in life.” Inspired by their own instructors, Laura and Jen are motivated to pass on what they've learned and to give a new generation of students the opportunity to explore and grow through dance, just as they did.
