New Owners Nice and quiet I can have a conversation without yelling over music ❤️Lovely people wish them well This restaurant has best views of channel and its activities Easy access for seniors Great service Good Drinks reasonably priced Food the same Looking forward to some new items and a little expanded menu and spices
The meal was tasty, the service was good. Our server took her mask down several times when she was in the bar area although never at our table. Also kitchen staff was observed with masks under their chin. I don’t really feel confident returning when Covid protocols are not observed.
First of all it took them an hour to get our menus to order our food, took them another half hour to get our appetizers, then when we all got our main courses either they were under cooked, small portioned, made wrong and given to the wrong person. The menu was over priced and the courses they were advertising were sold out. I advise if you want some where to go for a good time and great food to not go here, and that this will be our last time going to this place.
We were there for a Birthday meal tonight with several friends and family. Service was poor, food was poor, cold, and not prepared as ordered. Both Prime Rib meals ordered blue were tough and way overcooked. A salad ordered by another was downright terrible and was left mostly untouched. Owner was rude when asked to deal with an issue. Overall poor and final experience.
This was the last time I will ever go to Beefeaters, the pasta was store bought with little pasta sauce, it took 40 minutes to get the food and the servers pooled up on a table behind us (3 servers to one table). Lamb was bland.
appy for two is way to expensive for what you get, the portions are getting less and the price is going up. $16.50 for appy for two is a joke. you people are going to price yourself out of business, We'll never go back.
We had a wonderful time here. We came without notice with a large party and were accommodated quickly at a very nice table right by the water. I was surprised at how quick everything moved even though they seemed quite busy. We ordered appetizers for the table, all of which came out at the same time which was nice as this doesn't often happen at Vancouver restaurants. All the appetizers were warm, the salads were fresh and the soups h-o-t! Almost everyone at out table ordered steaks, all of which came out cooked perfectly. The vegetable that came with the steaks were cooked perfectly. We liked that they also had kids options although they were not advertised on the menu (we were told this however as soon as we sat down). The desserts were fantastic. Our table ordered almost every dessert, the cheesecake was light and fluffy with a wonderful raspberry sauce on top, the chocolate kahlua cake was amazing and the belgian waffle dessert although large was one of the best desserts i've ever had!! The wine list was extensive as was the martini list. All our drinks came out promptly and they were wonderful. The restaurants atmosphere was appropriate for the type of food that was served. The tablecloths and water glasses gave the restaurant a sort of simple elegance mirrored by the twinkly lights on the marina. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to everyone I know, it was amazing we will definitely return when we come back to the island.
Beefeater's Chop House & Grill was great, all our food was served promptly and it was a very busy night. The food was well cooked, well presented and tasted amazing. The servers were very nice and checked on us frequently to ensure our evening was top notch. Atmosphere really suited the place and the location was beautiful. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others!
We have been going to beefeaters for years. We always have great service and great food. One of our favorites in Nanaimo.
The food was not terrible, but for prices similar to mid-high end food this is not what I expect. As a former chef in training, I noticed that food presentation did not seem a priority (at all), which is half the meal! The flavour was not bad, however "prime rib sunday" ended up being Rib Eye steaks (undercooked). The decor is obviously quite dated, dark and drab. Might have been nice in 1986, is no longer appropriate. Made me wonder if it had ever been cleaned? The utensils and dishes are of low quality, and not appropriate. Not that this should really matter, but as an aspect with shortcomings along with the other problems, It is notable. IE: Ordered a blackberry margherita and it came in a TALL BEER GLASS. The service was kind of odd... the matre'd seemed like he was in the russian mob, without expression, tact, or kindness(I think he was a manager). The server TRIED smiling and the like, but her tone was tenative at best and almost hesitant... like as if there was something horrible she was not telling me about the food I was about to eat!!! At the end, our server asked us if we wanted our desert brought out, and I said "Yes, Please". Fifteen minutes later, nothing. So I went to pay and leave. As I was paying, she came out with the 2 pieces of cheescake. She immediately says, "Oh no we do not do takeout on 'Feature Night'...." Frankly, I was not very impressed. I did not care wether or not we took the desert home(part of the Prime Rib night deal was desert included), but how would I know what the rules of the "feature night" are. Why would I care? I would not go there again, and I would not recommend anyone else to go either. If they updated the decor, hired a new chef, and trained the staff properly I WOULD DEFINATELY try again, great location and concept. Thanks!
We had a great time our breakfast was very nice. The servers are very friendly and do a great job. I can't wait to go for dinner.
