If you love Indian food, you will leave New Asian Village
sated.
The service is very friendly but a little sporadic and manic at times, seems as though they need a few more servers.
The best thing to have is the buffet, the lentil soup is the best I have ever had.
I do wish the chefs would not abuse cilantro so much, this is a very pungent flavour and stays on the palate for many hours, it is to be used more sparingly.
The ambience is lovely, wonderful decor that they did not skimp on, they just need to bring that type of extravagance to the serving aspect.
The buffet looked a little iffy, but we ordered off the menu and were very happy with the results.
The onion bajis were wonderful. The tangy-sweet ipping sauce was a good counterpoint to the tender onion fritters.
The naan bread was properly charred in the oven and the different flavours were all worth a try. The curried cauliflower and dal were delicately spiced with an eye to balanced flavours.
The butter chicken was heaven on a plate, whether enjoyed over rice or with naan. The beef vindaloo was nice and hot but still carried beautiful flavours which developed beautifully over plain rice.
Service was slow, but polite and pleasant. The ambiance was calming, despite the busyness of the restaurant.
All in all, a good experience which I would happily repeat.
