This place is by far the BEST Restaurant I've ever eaten in!!! and here's why; 1- Unless your extremely hungry, the home cooked portions are so big, you can barely finish, so in most cases there's left overs for the next day. 2- No one in the city comes close to giving you that much food for that price, because no one has this kind of turnover! 3- Everything , even the bacon bits are real, nothing is from a can, the soups are home receipies, and the place is so busy that the food can be any fresher! 4- The servers might be a little on the old side, but you still get your meal faster than any other restaurant I ve ever been to! 5- The seats are real leather, ive seen them watering the plants, and you can custom tailor every part of your meal to suit even the pickiest of eaters. During our present COVID-19 situation, Rosemary & Thyme made a traditional Turkey Dinner (all homemade) for its customers. I took my son to Swiss Chalet two weeks ago for a chicken dinner (1/4 with fries). Consistently good. The waitress was attentive, and knew how to keep the baby at the table next door happy (crackers, crayons, drinks... STAT!). When my wife and I went out for dinner the next week, where did my son go? I ordered from wimpys using just eat. I was worried about just eat because of bad reviews but the delivery man ended up working for skip the dishes. They included everything I asked for (which included 5 maple syrups for the pancakes) the pancakes were huge!! The veggie burger was pretty good and the home fries were so good! It was all still nice and warm when I got it. I would say it was worth it's price too, it was a pretty good deal. Great food!!! Read more

I am a patron using a disbility device and while the restaurant is not "accessible" perse they do their best to make you feel comfortable. Now aside from that, I've been visiting this restaurant for roughly 20 years. My Mother and I found it a long time ago looking for a good Japanese restaurant that wasn't all the way downtown. The have great sushi, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, soups & my favourite Japanese style salad! Decor could use an update but it's clean and comfortable. There's a hidden entry from parking behind the restaurant or the double doorway at the front. Last night I decided to eat in for the first time since becoming differently abled so to speak. I had the Legend Boston roll with crab, Japanese mayonaise and salmon topper. It was very rich so I suggest if you try this do it with several people so everyone can have a taste, it was lovely but too rich for just one person to demolish. I had the shrimp tempura dinner which has tempura vegetables with it. Last night the tiger shrimp were lovely and fresh and the mix of vegetable composed of squash, sweet potato, onion and broccoli were very yummy. They make amazing tempura sauce. The meal comes with salad, miso soup, rice and huge plate of tempura so again great for sharing! I took home a cucumber roll for my son but seriously considered their toonie Tuesday offer which is a California roll, max of 2 given the offer, but my son is new to Japanese os a simple cucumber roll. I have plenty left over for lunch and am hoping the tempura will crisp up under the broiler today! Thanks to A.J. & staff for making it a lovely experience with my needs ;o) Read more

Pulled pork seems to be latest fad. You can even find it at Taco Bell these days! After walking in the area, a friend of mine and I decided to try this joint and indulge in some southern BBQ goodness. What we ordered is described below. There was no wait time to be seated and the restaurant was moderately busy. Service was friendly and attentive. As I wanted to try both southern specialties, I compelled my companion to order pulled pork while I ordered the beef brisket platter so we could share and compare. The pulled pork was very tender and it had a classic texture to it. The brisket portion was huge and it consisted of meat served in relatively large bite sized chunks. In both cases, the meat was smothered in a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce. 50% of my brisket was very tender and the other half was a bit on the chewy side. It tasted like regular roast beef. In both cases, there wasn't much of a smoked taste. One could faintly smell smoke in the restaurant but it wasn't reflected in the food we consumed so I suppose this was a bit of a disappointment. Each platter comes with a choice of salad or rather crispy thick french fries in addition to coleslaw, baked beans and cornbread. The cornbread was a bit dry. I think I will be back for the pulled pork. It appears to be an economical place for lunch with many sandwich platters under $10. Read more
