Top Thai restaurants in Montreal

Montreal has plenty of Thai restaurants awaiting your discovery. Take the opportunity to expand your knowledge of Asian cuisine by trying any of the authentic Thai restaurants below. ChuChai

1
4088-4094 rue Saint-Denis, Montréal, QC H2W 2M5

Chu Chai offers vegan Thai food in the Plateau. Their duck salad with hot chili and mint leaves taste like duck, but it’s all faux meat! If faux-meat isn’t for you, you can opt for their vegetable or tofu-rich dishes. Their neua sam rod “beef” is similar to General Tso chicken, and their panang neua “beef” is saucy and so full of herbs and flavours you’ll think you’re actually eating meat. Chu Chai is the perfect spot to bring that vegan friend without sacrificing taste!

Restaurant Phayathai

2
107, av Laurier O, Montréal, QC H2T 2N6

Established in 1992, Phayathai has multiple locations in Montreal, guaranteeing authentic Thai cuisine. They boast that their chefs were taught by their aunts and mothers for generations. Phayathai offers appetizers such as Thai beef jerky, and Thai pork sausage with lemongrass – different from the usual dumplings and spring rolls found in Asian cuisine. They even have a vegetarian menu for those so inclined, with plenty of tofu or vegetable-filled dishes!

Coba Restaurant

3
1124 Ave Laurier W, Outremont, QC H2V 2L4

Don’t let the name of this resto fool you. Coba Sushi is not all about sushi. Located on the fabulous Laurier street in Outremont, they fuse Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisines in an upscale setting. This is not the spot for cheap eats – this is a night out! Their stir fry Thai chicken or shrimp is delicious, as is their traditional pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. Coba also offers delivery and takeout, but make sure that you order their delectable sushi along with your Thai dish!

Restaurant Thailande

4
88, rue Bernard O, Montréal, QC H2T 2J8

Restaurant Thailande offers Thai gastronomy in a unique setting, where you can sit at a standard table or in their Thai salon, meaning cushioned floor seating. House specialties include pad phed talay, seafood sautéed with coconut milk and basil leaves served on a sizzling hot plate, and ped yang, a boneless roasted duck sautéed with spinach in soy sauce and ginger. Restaurant Thailande in Outremont has been open since the 1980s!

Opting to have a salad used to mean that you were on a diet, but not anymore! Today there are so many unique combinations and eating salad is now about satisfying a craving, not going on a diet. We love clean eating when it tastes good! [image creditl: iStockphoto]
Let’s face it, we’re only happy about Thanksgiving because we get a day off from work! It’s not a big holiday like our neighbours to the south but that doesn’t mean we can’t go out and celebrate with a good meal and a fun experience. Here are some fun Montreal alternatives to the traditional turkey dinner. We’re thankful that we live in Montreal with all of these amazing restaurants!
When we think of Mother’s Day we tend to think of brunch, but plenty of mothers would rather go out for dinner! These restaurants are open on Sunday nights, including Mother’s Day, and vary from French, to Italian, to Syrian, to Spanish and more. There is something for every mother and their finicky palate![image credit: iStock]
