Indulge your sweet tooth with these desserts in Edmonton

Desserts are often overlooked when it comes to eating out. Many lists and articles are focused around best restaurant, and bakeries seldom get mentioned. Sweets are making a comeback this year, and this list focuses on cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes and more!

Duchess Bake Shop

1
10720 124 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 0H1

Duchess was named one of the best bakeries in the world by the BuzzFeed community, and they definitely earned it. They are locally known for their macarons. The interior of the Duchess reminds of Parisian bakeries. The cakes are very rich and decadent. They have seasonal macaroon flavours, so there is never a dull moment there! Definitely try one of each kind!

Fife N’ Dekel is a family run business, with four locations all around Edmonton. The first shop opened in1983, and, since then, three more locations have opened up, run by the sons and daughters of the original owners. It is definitely the definition of a family-run business! They specialize in pies, with a monthly pie and weekly features! You can even get sandwiches and catering from them!

Upper Crust Cafe

Upper Crust Café is one of my favourite spots to grab lunch, but what’s really great are their desserts. You can even get them catered! There are selections of freshly-baked cookies and squares. They also have different kinds of pie and a large assortment of cakes. All of their baked goods are so fresh and moist.

Cafe Mosaics

10844 82 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 2B3

Right on Whyte and 108 Street is the little cozy spot, Café Mosiacs. They specialize in vegetarian and vegan cuisine! Everyday, they have a different assortment of bakes goods, from vegan chocolate chip cookies, vegan cupcakes and vegan pie. What they are especially known for, though, is their vegan chocolate cake! They are all definitely good – and great for vegans that normally can’t find good desserts.

Bonton Bakery

8720 149 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5R 1B6

Bonton is one of my favourite bakeries in Edmonton. They have such a large array of things that you can order. They make fresh artisanal bread, and their sourdough bread is delicious for sandwiches. For those with a sweet tooth, they have a huge selection of sweets, from cookies and cakes to sweet buns and more! One of my favourite things to get here are their sticky buns!

Vi's For Pies

Located right on Stony Plain road and 134 Street is Vi’s for Pies. It can be easily overlooked if you’re just zooming down Stony Plain to get from one side of the city to the other! They have savoury pies and dessert pies, as well! You could get a different pie for every course! They have a great selection of different kind of desserts, including cakes but their specialty – pies – is what they are known for!
