Abraham Gusman embodies the very essence of Rise Kombucha to a tee. Or should we say ‘tea’? The Vice president is a perfect match for the Montreal-brewed fermented tea known as Rise Kombucha: refreshing, fun and peppy.
“The owners of Crudessence, a restaurant that provides vegan and organic raw foods and services, were drinking Kombucha tea.” Gusman explains, “It’s an ancient 2000 year old recipe from Asia. It was a health remedy, it was a much more concentrated remedy, fermented to the point of being alcohol. The founders started brewing a non-alcoholic version of it in-house for their diners. Eventually, due to its popularity, the Kombucha project took on more of an importance and they had to split the tea brewing from the restaurant.” Now the fermented tea company supplies to health food stores all over the city and country.
