The very best independent bookstores in Montreal

The Word is a small but very cool second-hand bookstore near McGill University. There’s lots of clutter to sift through, but it’s a gold mine for those who like to dig through piles of books on every topic imaginable. If they like your old books, they’ll buy them off you too. They’re very choosy, though, and that’s why they have such a great collection.
