Called for reservations, said they weren’t taking any and we could just walk in, got there and reservations were booked for 2 hours.. would have been nice if anyone there was on the same page.
I've been going here since 1996, and its still great!! I LOVE the won ton soup!! Everything is excelllent, nice family owned place. Back in the mid-late 90's, we would have to wait 10-20 minutes on weekends to get a table!! Sad, but between the weaker US dollar, and 9/11, it deeply impacted the business here, and all over Windsor. I spoke to the owner last year about it, and he said Americans are not coming like they did before. With the new ID restrictions, this won't help. I live in metro Detroit, and would travel to Windsor on the spur of the moment. But those days are gone forever. ITS WORTH THE DRIVE & BORDER FEE. On my birthday a few years ago, they put a candle in an almond cookie, and sang Happy Birthday to me (my wife set this up).
We have eaten here for many years, and still love to go there at least once a month. Very attentive and friendly service, and the food is always delicious and hot. I dream about the squid! Ambience has been fixed up a bit lately.
The food and the service remain superb.
This is my favorite reataurant in Windsor!! Truly a secret gem. If you go, order the hot and spicy prawns!! Don't let the name fool you, they're not hot, but OMG!!! Try it and see for yourself.
