Yet, nothing beats engaging with music through personalized lessons built specifically for you by a dedicated teacher. It is with that in mind that Milton Gavilanez launched The Music Scene, a music school that he now manages with the help of his associate, Jasmyn Kersey.
Milton has always had an interest in music. As a youngster, he dabbled with DJing and breakdancing, so music has always had a special space in his life. Before launching The Music Scene, he was working in the hospitality industry, where he managed several restaurants, organizing many events and jazz shows. It was around 2005 that a friend of his came up with a concept for a music school, which sparked immediate interest in Milton. “I gave it some thought and decided to go with it,” he says. “After a while, Jasmyn joined me, and we've been running the school ever since. It's been truly wonderful; both of us don't see what we do here as work, to be honest, it is a passion.”
