When they first opened the owners were behind the order desk. I was a regular customer almost everyday. They seemed like they hated dealing with customers, never smiled or made you feel welcomed. The pizza however is very unique. I recommend at least trying it once.
Ordered a pizza and a Ceaser Salad. When the salad was delivered to my table I realized that it was sprinkled with simulated bacon bit product so I sent it back...not exactly gourmet. The kicker was that they didn't even offer to give me my money back or substitute it with something of equal value. Buyer beware I guess.
My wife used to go to this restaurant once a week for lunch. She would go with a friend and her kids, and a child that she cares for. They spend at least $40.00 each time they go, and spend only about an hour in the restaurant. A couple of weeks ago, they went as usual, for lunch. As they were moving two outdoor tables together so they had enough room, the owner came out and yelled that he was too busy for this, and that they spend 2 hours here every week, and take up room from other customers….. First off, like I said before, they spend about an hour max, once a week. Second, how is a paying customer taking up room? Needless to say, they left the restaurant disgusted by the owners comments. We won’t be eating here again, or ordering delivery from them either. We have also mentioned this to a few friends who used to order on a regular basis, but no longer do. Better off going elsewhere.
great casual place to grab a quick dinner or lunch for dine-in or take-out. twice as good as any pizza chain. highly recommended! We served it at our wedding for the midnight buffet, it was gone in 20 minutes and everyone wanted to know where it was from. great job by ned
Tried this place twice. Failed to notice when Hawaiian or deluxe pizza became gourmet. Nothing original and they didn't know how to make a caesar salad. The name is very misleading. The pizza was fair but certainly not gourmet. You could get better regular types of pizza almost anywhere and there really weren't any gourmet varieties.
It's hard to find gourmet pizza places in this area - ones that offer a more robust round-up of toppings. This place has it though. I love the combinations available and the owner is great for suggesting combos if you're not sure. The only complaint I have with the pizza is the crust. Id didn't see a thin-crust option and I found the crust very, very filling. The decor is fab though, as is the patio on a quiet side street in uptown Waterloo. I'll be keeping this place on my pizza radar - nothing beats pizza topped with kalamata olives, feta cheese and artichoke hearts - and a glass of red wine to wash it down with. Lovely!
