The food is nothing special, you could probably get better quality and taste at a fast food joint. The service is beyond disappointing. The servers are rude and stuck up. They seemed to be too busy flirting with the guys who check id's then serving their tables.
The only thing this place has going for it is a nice patio but when you're food and service are garbage who cares.
Been coming here for years. I dont know who wrote that last review but they must have a screw loose. What would you expect if you tried to get a table for 7 people on a saturday nite without a reservation when the place is lined up. We had a great time, the food was good and the service was adequate considering how busy the place was. The lineup indicated they are doing something right. Not too many restaurants are around as long as they have been.

My parents rave about this restaurant all the time and are true regulars, who are happy to take friends and family to enjoy what they believe is the best food.
Its unfortunate that I didn't even have an opportunity to try that food, as I was never seated - after waiting an hour and twenty minutes!
Its usually a good sign to see that a restaurant has a solid line-up...but when you realize that the line-up is as a result of terrible mismanagement and beyond poor service, that is a different story.
My table of seven waited over an hour watching other people being seated ahead of us. Trying to be understanding - because we were a big group - we waited patiently. Until we witnessed three different opportunities pass when we could have been seated but the "manager" in the front continuously refused to allow us to sit.
His attitude was rude and uncaring, even though several other groups around us were just as upset about the ridiculously slow and rude service.
I don't know any manager of any restaurant who can be so disgusting to his patrons, and who can care so little about making people wait over an hour, when there were several chance to seat us and make us comfortable.
I don't care how good the food is supposed to be. I will never go near that restaurant again, and will be more than happy to describe to others the kind of service and attitude they will receive when they arrive.

I hadn't been to Jakes for a while as I moved away for business but now that i have moved back will definitely become a regular again. The new renovations are amazing, so many flatscreen TV,s. We watched the Canada vs Slovakia game. The place was packed, the food came fast and was amazing. We all had a great time. Our server was great and very knowledgeable.

Good spot for drinks and a snack. I haven't been since mid-august but i liked the renovation job they did not too long ago. oh i have to write 25 words? nice, tasty, shots, beer, whoo.
First, my beer did not come until the main course was served. Second, they brought the wrong food to the table. Apparently somebody switched my smoked meat sandwich for ruben. Third, I left my sunglasses at the table, apparently somebody turned the sunglasses in to the restaurant, and then the restaurant lost them.
Very nice restaurant, this was our second visit to Jakes on Main, we had a good time. The food was very good, the staff were very friendly and fast. Very clean restaurant, nice patio. Will definately visit again and recommend the restaurant to friends and Family.
I used to come here a lot more often when I worked in the area and still come back on occasion. The food is always good and the service is generally quite good too.
The patio in the summer for lunch is amazing and very relaxing. I always enjoy my visits to this spot.

this restaurant is definately a hot spot. and no i am not a server or anyone who has worked there. it is a great place to hang out with my friends. we go all the time! the service is great! their super nice and reconize me and my friends cuz weere such regulars hah. the food is defanately a plus that keeps bringing everyone back. the blooming onion is a great appetizer to try! definately would go back.,.. as a matter of a fact im going back tonight! and ive been going there since i was little... dates, birthday parties, quick meals. the atmosphere is great.. ive even been in the bar area and its really cute. pplus the upstair has a pool table and is a great place to throw a party. its got arcade games stools and tables a pool table etc. the arcade games used to be downstairs in an arcade room, but i guess they moved it upstairs for the parties :) and the toilets.. there toilets who would review them.. there the exact same size as regular ones haha.

Food was bad, (some people even sent some dishes back). When we asked for no bacon on our salad, we got bacon on our salad.
We got sat at 7:45, at tables that weren't clean. We had 3 menus for a group of 10, didn't get our orders taken till 9, and food didn arrive till 9:30. AND, the bill came when we hadn't even finished eating.
What a great atmosphere. Service was awesome! Even though it was a man. I say this only because i was with my hockey buddies. Lots of pretty girls though. awesome atmosphere. Best patio in CANADA
Jakes is a fun place to go, and definitely the most casual and youth-oriented in Unionville (which can get a bit stuffy and 'charming') with a great patio out front perfect for enjoying a summer evening away from the city. That being said, the food is mostly standard sports-bar fare and the vibe can get a bit too "college buddies cutting loose". I'll definitely be back, but you need to be in the mood for pitchers and wings. On nice summer days, expect to wait in line for a seat.

The food was great and i was happy to hear that they had boddingtons on tap....I hardly find it anywhere! My wife and hadn't been here before but we came with an old friend of ours and had a great time. The waitress was really sweet and quick with everything......almost. The atmosphrere of the restaurant was so relaxing, especially with the warmth from the mainstreet. Overall, I had a great time and my wife and I have now found another place we would love to come again. Great job!

This is one of the best places my husband and I have gone to. If you want great atmosphere, great service and AMAZING food I suggest you try this place out. I am there at least once every weekend and will continue to go. It is always busy and the people are so nice and the food is just phenominal! Down to the SALADS!
