In 2009, along the then-quiet stretch of Dundas, a small bakery opened that quickly developed a cult following. Customers raved about OMG Baked Goodness’s sweet treats, many of which came in gluten-free and vegan options that were just as sinfully delicious as their buttery, gluten-filled counterparts.
The casual spot, with a service counter overlooking a busy bakery, is under-the-radar and unassuming. The display case is packed with a selection of toothsome treats: cupcakes, croissants and tarts, among other sweet options. The selection, though, represents only about 20 per cent of the products made at OMG. The bakery’s bread and butter is actually selling wholesale to local restaurants and cafés.

You can order them in bunches for a celebration (they’ve done orders as large as 5000), or you can stop by and grab one to-go. The sweet creations are frosted with different colours and flavoured icing like vanilla, chocolate, mint and lavender. FYI: some flavoured cupcakes and baked goods are not vegan, but they do offer several gluten-free options.
