Little Nicky’s Coffee fits right in the Queen West neighbourhood. Brother and sister Frank and Renee Bonise opened the local café and hotspot, known for its coffee and mini-doughnuts, in 2010, before the ’hood was hooked on the bean.
Renee has always been captivated by the culture around coffee. “I’ve always been inspired by the café culture,” she says. “I love the energy, the vibe, everything about it.” So she decided to create her own energy through Little Nicky’s eclectic, old school vibe. Take a look around, high and low, and you’ll find antiques from around the globe. While on her travels, Renee has been known to pick up antique trinkets and pieces from small towns. With decor inspired by the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s of the Great Depression, Little Nicky’s makes us want to time travel with a coffee in one hand and a handful of mini doughnuts in the other.
