After graduating from the Law School of the University of British Columbia, I was called to the bar in Ontario in 1996. For the first five years of my practice, I worked in the Intellectual Property group at Gowling, Lafleur, Henderson LLP, then left in 2000 to work on my own and pursue other interests. I attended the Ontario College of Art & Design until 2003, while opening my own practice specializing in art, entertainment and intellectual property. I am still working exclusively in those areas and I provide smart, intelligible advice to a variety of clients including advertising and marketing firms, film and television producers, artists and musicians, and small businesses. I have taught extensively in the areas of entertainment, intellectual property, contract and small business law, including a decade at the Harris Institute for the Arts, and frequent seminars at the Ontario College of Art & Design.
