After owning and operating Savorie Restaurant in Forest Hill for 11 years, Paul purchased Domani Restaurant and immediately fell in love with both the restaurant and the neighbourhood. Slowly and respectfully enhancing the 17 year Roncy favourite has proven to be an excellent approach as passionate diners continue to embrace this gem. Paul integrates his love and knowledge of wine into the wine selection, creating a perfect balance with every meal. Paul has proven that his passion for the industry and his determination to bring fine Italian service to every table is evident on every visit to the restaurant.
Great food. Great Wine. Great Service. more...See more text
I had heard terrific things about Domani, a restaurant run by a former pro footballer from Afghanistan who has worked at some of Toronto's top restaurants, and had to come down to High Park and see for myself.
The service was very courteous, prompt, and personal. At no point did we even have to ask for anything because it was already taken care of.
The food was exquisite, well-presented and skilfully prepared. The portions were large but despite being quite full it was too delicious to leave any behind. The desserts were absolutely amazing, though next time I would do without the espresso.
Though Domani requires a bit of a journey, I have not eaten anywhere in Toronto where gourmet food of this quality is available at such a reasonable price and accompanied by such excellent service.
This bar specializes in wine, so just go ahead and challenge the wait staff to bring you a glass that doesn't blow your mind. There are dozens of local and international producers to choose from, with the wine menu separated into red, white and champagne/sparkling varietals. And with zero pretension, you don't have to worry about pairing a glass of merlot with the Scottish smoked salmon.
