When Christy Stone-Curry opened The Piano Café in 2002, she had a cozy coffee shop in mind. Today she still serves coffees, but The Piano Café has grown into a 100-seat lunch restaurant with a private dining room for up to 12 people and a 25-seat patio.
Located at the main cross roads in pretty Port Perry, the restaurant has become something of a Port Perry hub with a clientele made up of both visitors and loyal locals. “It’s kind of like a 'ladies who lunch' place,” says Christy. “I’m the lead chef of a team who all have culinary backgrounds. I am the business person, but love the cooking.”

What a treat we had in Port Perry after a couple of hours out on the water. The main dining room was full so we were shown a table in a private room which we had all to ourselves. Both the service and the food was excellent. The owner, Christie, was friendly and down to earth making us feel very welcome. A couple of us had food restrictions which were easily accommodated. The homemade ice cream was a exceptional way to end a delicious lunch. I’ll definitely go back!
Really nice fresh homemade food. A great lunch stop.
I have dined at the Piano Cafe many times but this was our first time on the patio. The lattice fences provide seclusion while allowing light to flow in. It was a beautiful day for the patio, but you can't go wrong inside either. I love the gorgeous wooden floors. The walls are lined with interesting and beautiful artwork from local artists . I had the Pear, Goat Cheese and Carmelized Walnut Sald with chicken. It was delicious.I would highly recommend and will be returning many more times.
I had relatives visiting so we went over to Port Perry and we stopped for lunch at my favourite restaurant there - The Piano Cafe. And we had a wonderful dining experience! We dined on their new patio - just lovely! Our food was nutritious, delicious and attractively presented..The staff is very pleasant, hard working and conscientious. Service is quick and the staff is quite attentive. The owner checked with us, as she always does, to make sure that we were pleased with our meal. My relatives were impressed as I knew they would be. The Piano Cafe always delivers.. Well done, once again, Piano Cafe! I'll be back!
All in all, a great place to eat!! The food, service, and atmosphere was just terrific!! Will definately be back, as soon as possible!! I have a few food sensitivities and the staff/owner were very helpful and accomodating. They even have a 'gluten free' menu! How great (and rare) is that!
Over all this place is a great dinning experience for lunch. The servers are nice and friendly and I see that there are quite a few regulars that come and dine here. The price of food for what you get is fair as well. I do think however that the staff needs to be a little bit older. There always seems to be a commotion coming from the kitchen , and a lot of young teens coming in and out from it. I understand within the summer months as students need work , but at least for chef's sake , hire someone who is in their late 20's to 30's with experience as some of the food that comes out looks sloppy and some salads often come with wilted lettus and stale/old tasting toppings.
We were staying at the Inn upstairs and decided to go down for lunch. The lunch was great! They have been there for longer than i thought because the owner is a younger lady. We will return but will make reservations first bto avoid the line
Our meal was absolutely delicious and the service was great! The owner checked with us to make sure that we were happy. The decor is beautiful with such lovely artwork! We'll be back soon!
This is a great place to bring the people you want to impress
Very pleasant place with lovely food and service. Smack bang in the middle of the high street. Recommended.
Both salads were more than ample and delicious. The biscuits that accompanied the salad were excellent. Service was friendly and efficient despite the restaurant being fully occupied. The owner know how to run a business!!
we had to wait in line for a bit so the owner offered us a free coffee at the back bar. She was good to do that. Had a great lunch.
Ooolala, delicious. Fresh, tasty, great ambiance and location. This is good for you food. Highly recommended.
the service was great especially Kiley because she was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO cheerful
Excellent place to eat for lunch! The servers are always very friendly, food is of excellent quality, very tasty! I must agree with a previous review, they do not serve breakfast at the Piano Cafe and not only that, they have never served french fries so I highly suggest that those two comments be removed as this place is very enjoyable and everyone is always very friendly. Good Work to all at Piano Cafe! Keep it up!
We had a great time except there was a long waiting list to get in. That was the only issue. This place is always lined up so get there before noon.
The place is always full with people spilling out the door. I see why now.
We went for my wives birthday. This Cafe is amazing as they only do lunch and it always seems to be lined up. It is frustrating to try and get a table so we called ahead for reservations. The server was young and efficent, the owner came over to speak with us and make sure things were good. Reading other reviews they must have been somewhere else as this place does not do anything but lunch?? I don't think.
They have interesting pictures of celebs on the walls at the back. My food was great and it was busy but the service was good.
We really liked the colour scheme in the Cafe and the fact the owner came over to greet us.
