Slow lazy service on a late weekday morning in a half empty rest. The four of us were treated to runny eggs overcooked bacon weak coffee and small portions When we complained to the elderly lady who served us,she whined about how people complain too much. We soon left, barely touching the food. Not good. Not recommended
When I moved to Ottawa, a friend recommended Ada's, a diner he had frequented for many years. Five us went in early January '08 and I've been there probably 3 times a week, every week, ever since. Ada, Wilf and Jaz know almost evrybody by name who come in the door. Sure it's crowded and noisy, but what a happy place to have a meal. And her soups are fantastic. When Ada knows you like a particular soup, she will offer it to you even though it's not on the menu. Talk about PR; this diner has it in spades. I often buy extra soup and take it back to the office for others to enjoy.
great little diner with great food. try their homemade soups - made by ada herself some people have reviewed this place forgetting that THIS IS A DINER. what do you expect? it's as good as diner's get.
Don't get shafted by sitting in the hallway next to the kitchen! They not only brush past you with arms full of dishes but pretty much forget about serving you. No refills. You actually have to buy another coffee! Are you kidding me? At a diner! Prices are about $2-$3 too high compared to other places and food is lower quality and smaller portions. I think I'll walk an extra block and pay less money to have better food and as much coffee as I want.
The crowds lined up there say it all: Brunch at Ada's is an Ottawa institution. Ada and Wilf are the most charming proprietors in Ottawa and now know my whole family by name. I just wish they didn't have to work so hard!

This popular hipster diner with a sophisticated, modern, chilled-out vibe serves fantastic breakfast and brunch items. Wilf & Ada’s offers brunch classics like eggs Benedict and French toast, as well as grilled cheese selections of the day served with amazing “homies” home fries. But it’s the Hungryman option that seems to really get diners talking. It features all of the typical breakfast fixings, like eggs and bacon, along with French toast, whipped cream, and fruit compote on the side. That hefty lunch should keep you going ‘til bedtime!

The thought of two eggs simmered in spicy tomato sauce is enough to make my mouth water. There is also the Hungryman, a breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, home fries and French toast with fruit compote, whip cream and maple syrup.

Long line-ups are not uncommon on weekends as Wilf and Ada’s menu attracts regulars and newcomers year-round with revolving dishes that change according to the season’s harvest. The top-notch French toast also varies, but is usually served on house-made bread and made with buttermilk batter, fruit compote and maple syrup.
