You don’t need to head to Quebec, or even Toronto, for a taste of Montreal; Montreal Steamed Hot Dogs and Poutines has all of the favourites from “The City of a Hundred Steeples” right here in Oshawa. Their authentic ingredients and preparation combine to create poutine and smoked-meat sandwiches that taste just like the real thing. “We like to think that we fill a niche here because there isn’t a spot focusing on Montreal cuisine in the area,” says owner and chef Chaz Smith.
Chaz works hard each day alongside Katrina, his partner in business and in life, producing some of Montreal’s best “exports”: along with poutine and smoked meat, as the spot’s name suggests, tasty steamed hot dogs and buns, otherwise known as “steamies”, can be found on the menu.
I come here all the time with my friends. One of my friends came up to me one day before lunch and said "Do you wanna go to Montreal Fries with me? I've never been, and I really wanna go." I said "Of course". So me, her, and another one of our friends go down there for lunch. They really liked it. Me and the owner, Wes, we're good friends, so we often chat about his business. I'm a frequent visitor and it's the most delicious, filling meal you can get for under $10. The service is delightful, the food is amazing and it brings me back week after week.

for delicious HOT poutine and HOT hot dog. Yes, the steamed them and served the food HOT. Oui des vrais hot-dogs chauds et steamed. Each time we bring our friends they always go back...Very small place but great
food and great people.. Try the hot dog with smoked meat. L'essayer, c'est l'adopter.If you try once you will be back for sure..

I have been looking for a GOOD poutine since moving to Oshawa 6 years ago. Hallelujah!! I've finally found it!! Delicious poutine and steamed hotdogs.
Wes the owner is a nice and friendly guy. We will meet again, I'll need my fix again sometime soon.
Once again, we went to Montreal Fries. Wes was very nice, and I stand by my last review, by calling Wes the SULTAN OF STEAMIES! This is still our poutine hotspot, and will remain so for a while. Bon Appetite!
Excellent meal, just the way it should be done! Just like Montreal Hot Dogs... Wes the owner is quite friendly; overall always happy when we go there, and it is well worth the drive to get there. The prices are realy good too. The service is realy great! We will be back soon! Again! Again...
I've had alot of poutine's in my life, (so much, that I'm a poutine connoisseur) but whan I eat this poutine, I become a consumer! This poutine was out of this world! The gravy may not taste like gravy, but that's becaus it's NOT gravy! It's poutine sauce.The Steamies were amazing!They were made PERFECTLY! I've got to say, that the owner/cashier/cook, is the Sultan Of Steamies! This place is a little taste of montreal. As close to montreal as you can get! This has become our poutine hot spot.
