Opening Cuchulainn’s was a simple decision for Karen and Todd Collins.
“We both came from different restaurant chains and we’ve always wanted to have our own,” explains Karen. “I’m Irish and my husband is a Newfoundlander, so it was in our blood.”
The choice of Streetsville as its place of operation was also an easy decision for the pair. “It’s such a great small town in a big city,” says Karen. “You have the history of the street, a lot of regulars, and great people that consider us part of the family now. Our staff is the same way, we’re one big family. We socialize together and it’s a very family-oriented community. I love it.”
Between the historical buildings and walking tours in Streetsville, the location is a great place to escape and relax.

We visited cuchulainn's after a long time since we no longer reside in Mississauga. We specifically drove to streetsville from Toronto as my husband was craving fish and chips. Since I had raved about this authentic Irish pub I insisted that we indulge in fish and chips at this pub. Unfortunately the fish was soggy...and my Caesar salad which I specifically ordered without bacon came with bacon and the chicken looked undercooked. When the waitress returned with a new salad without bacon it appeared as though they had used the same chicken. I don't eat pork for religious reasons, however because i didn't want to make an issue I didn't touch the chicken and of course paid for our meal. I called up the next day and spoke with the owner who to my surprise she became very defensive and insisted that they used a different piece of chicken...i explained that my new salad came back about 1 minute after i sent it back and she didn't believe me....I have never done this before but wanted to make sure that future customers know what they are dealing with...this is not customer service....we will certainly not be returning to this establishment. Very very disappointed.
Really good food and beer, but the real reason to visit is the atmosphere. Friendly staff, nice decor, relaxed feeling. This place is the genuine article.
Guys and Girls I'm from ireland and i just wana let yea all know that this is the closest thing to an irish bar that is in ON. the service the food and atomsphere second to none. The first thing i said to myself walking in was yea the irishness was not over done bang on. love the place and have recomended it to alot of people
The service was great. The food was top notch (Hill o' Chips = fries with gravy, dressing and savoury - the BEST I've had outside of St. John's NL!!)
The atmosphere, service, and food was excellent. Always a good crowd, and always delicious food. Its often surprising that you get so much food for so little. Plus, they pour the best pint of Guinness around.
Best Fish and Chips i've had in Canada staff were actually Irish !!!!! Absolutely perfect pint of Guinness
