I have been coming here for years and the food and service are always excellent. If I am meeting someone for lunch or dinner this is always my first choice . Portions are the right size and wine (by the glass) is a very nice quality.
The Rigatoni pasta's are amazing.I highly recommend this place
Service extremely poor. Waitress was rude and not helpful at all. Food was very salty and they used out of the box ingredients. We asked for dish replacement which they did not accommodate because chef had no replacement ingredients (explanation given by manager). Crab legs could not be eaten as they did not provide proper utinsils. We will not recommend this restaurant to our worst enemy. Extremely pricey for the service and food provided.
Went on a weekday at lunchtime. The seafood alfrado was great, but the portion size was alittle to small i guess it was the lunch portion. I wasn't full at all. The desert was ok i ordered creme brulee it was a little bit watery like a watered down flavour orange taste. The waitress was friendly.
My friends and I went to Saucy for a birthday dinner and we booked the Elinor Hall room. We had a great time with plently of privacy and our own iPod playing. But the best part by far was the food and the cute service ;) We had mussels, asparagus on toast, fried brie, and bruschetta. And everything was delicious there wasn't a crumb to spare!!! For dinner I had the beef penne which has blue cheese and is so creamy delicious I ate every bit!!! (about 4 of us got this dish and everybody was blown away!) For dessert our server brought creme brulee and skor cheesecake out for the birthday girl which was a sweet sweet surprise yum yum!! Can't wait to return this is my new favourite restaurant!!
It's a small cozy place. Excellent place for birthday parties. The appetizers are to die for and are fairly large so you can share. They have created a simple but relaxing atmosphere where you are never rushed. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is always good whatever you have. Loved the seafood pasta.
Went to Saucy's for a friends birthday. The service was fabulous, and they were more than accomodating. We had ordered some of the various appetizers, all of which were excellent, especially for the price point. The service was excellent, and for my main course I had the chicken dijon salad with feta and peppers, which was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back, Saucy had a very inviting atmosphere, and is amazing food for the price point.
I went to Saucy with my wife yesterday and had an Awesome experience. We were welcomed at the door and promptly escorted to our table. The table was nicely set with a candle and low lighting for atmosphere. We ordered a couple of glasses of wine and started with Asparagus on Toast and Wild Mushrooms. The presentation was excellent. I have to say the Wild mushrooms was just amazing. I have had nothing like it anywhere else. My wife just adored the Asparagus on Toast. The waitress described the specials for the night, they all sounded so mouth watering. I choose the steak and prawns and my wife the stuffed chicken. I love my steak medium rare. It came on top of garlic mashed poatoes and was cooked to perfection. The prawns were very delicate and juicy, just the way I like them. The presentation is something special. My wife was so impressed with her dish that she can`t wait to come back. We finished our meal with two works of art: Creme Brule and Score Cheesecake served with coffee. It looked so good it seemed a shame to eat it. The flavour did not disappoint either. We shared them and ate them to the last crumb. What an amazing dining experience from start to finish. Looking forward to further exploring of the menu in the very near future. If you are looking for awesome food at a reasonable price, saucy is the place to come.
I come in from Milton with friends regularly to have just appetizers on the patio at Saucy. We love them and the fried Brie is one of our favorites. It is real Brie I assure you. Try the asparagus or mushrooms on toast.....Fabulous!!
We started with deep fried brie and we had to ask for bread...... by the time the waitress brought the bread, the cheese was cold. This is when we discovered it was NOT brie but 2 mozzarella sticks. When I told the waitress of the situation her response was that "no one else had complained". A manager did not come to our table and it was not removed from our bill. For my main I had the beef tenderloin which I ordered medium rare, it was over cooked but still delicious. My friend had the chicken breast and said it was wonderful. Over a $10.00 problem this restaurant has most likely lost 2 future customers.
This is one of my favourite places to eat around this area. I've been here so many times with friends and family and it never disappoints. It's a small cozy place. The menu is not wide but everything I have tried is great. The mushroom appetizer is a must have, the sauce makes me want to lick the plate. My staple is the seafood pasta.
After a disappointing dining experience in the heart of streetsville, I was a little apprehensive of trying another location. I do love to try private owned restaurants vs. franchise restaurants 9 out of 10 times. I'm definitely glad I stopped by at Saucy! The Good: Wow, how good can a hamburger be? I had the burger double stacked for an extra $3 and it was definitely one of the top 3 hamburgers I have eaten! The combination of the home made patty with bacon and goat cheese. Drooling just thinking about it. The Pesto pizza was cooked to perfection and very tasty! The service was very good and very attentive. The Bad: We opted to sit outside and it felt like our table was at a pretty heavy angle with 10 degree slope. When I asked the waitress about the tables she advised me that the city wont allow them to refinish the sidewalk. Maybe prop some plates or items to level the tables? The Ugly: I definitely will return, however I think my expectations will be through the roof! All in all, great food and very good service. Some dishes are just upgraded pub food however you will definitely taste the difference. They also have fine dining dishes as well. I definitely would have to recommend dining at Saucy!
Have to say, the food was awesome. I ordered the Beef & Blue which had perfectly cooked gnocchi pasta, and mushrooms with amazing flavor. The beef itself was tender and moist. Portion size, perfect. My date had the Lobster Alfredo with Fettuccini noodles, which she also enjoyed, remarking that the parmesan cream sauce was very tasty. Of course i had to try some too. Noodles were perfectly cooked, and the lobster as well. Wasn't a fan of the sauce, but to each their own. To drink we each had the Cono Sur - Merlot which came in a great wine glass and enough to last through the meal. The atmosphere was classy yet social, allowing you to relax and enjoy your company and food. Overall a great experience, definitely go back for seconds. If i had to mention a negative: Simple fact that there was no host/hostess to greet us as we walked in, i had to flag down a waitress.
We have been regulars at Saucy over the past nine years, and have never had a bad meal. They have created a simple but relaxing atmosphere where you are never rushed. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is always good whatever you have. Having run my own catering company I am critical when eating out but I always leave Saucy feeling like a had a good home cooked meal.
The staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating and the atmosphere is simple, modern and intimate. The food was great; delicious, and served quickly. My only regret was not saving room for dessert.
I would like to say that i find the food to be great, they have such a great selection of appetizers, the main courses just melt in your mouth..i would go back all the time...If you havent been there recently they have changed some stuff on their menu and have added things, so i suggest you go soon, but make a reservation first.. I do not agree with the comments about the servers clothes being dirty, they are well groomed, friendly... The food there is not medicore pub food, dry or favourless, the person who wrote that sounds like someone who is jealous and trying to knock the hardwork these people do. If you ever happen to notice the place is always busy and sometimes most of the people come from out of town to eat there...
I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful this place is!!! The ambiance and decor is modern and yet quite comfortable. An odd thing to note, but the bathrooms are also beautiful. Literally, EVERYTHING we ate was delicious. The appetizer was absolutely spectacular - I plan to recreate it for my wedding menu. The mains were very generous in terms of portion size. The fish and pork were moist and well cooked, but, if I could use only one word to describe the food, it would be FLAVOUR!!!!!! The starches, the salsas, the vegetables... even the garnish was edible - and more so, pretty and delicious. We didn't bother to have desert, but maybe next time. In terms of service, we were there for an early dinner, so there weren't very busy - hardly a test of how they would handle dinner service in full swing. But they were filling up when we left and they seemed to have things well in hand. Reservations are probably a good idea! Might a tad on the expensive side, but it's a worthwhile and far superior choice to many of the other allegedly fine dining establishments in Mississauga. We'll be back. I highly recommend Saucy!
This was our first visit to Saucey's. It came highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Our waitress gave us ample time to make our selections as there were so many good things on the menu. After narrowing it down to 3 different dinner items-- we asked her opinion and went with her suggestions..and we were not disappointed. The cesaer salad was one of the best we've ever had -nice and crispy right to the last lettuce leaf and not too heavy on the dressing. The baked goat cheese was awesome. The steaks were done to perfection and the vegie sides were tender crisp. Our server was very efficient and she wished us Happy Anniversary at least 3 times before we left. We were very happy with the food, and service and will definitely go back because there are so many other items on the menu we want to try.
we were a party of 4 and it was our first visit, the food was absolutley wonderful, very flavorful and the service was great as well. would definitley recomend this place to others.
We've been going there for years. Saucey's is a gem! The food is absolutely great! As is the atomosphere. Unique. More places like this are needed in Mississauga. We are swimming in a morass of road house restaurants like Montanas, Shoeless Joes etc. So you pay an extra $20 - 30 but you get REAL FOOD WITH TASTE! As for Thomas' review, although he may have had a bad experience, I would be inclined to think that his taste, and price tolerance might be better suited to what the establishment used to be - MacDonalds.
