I'm not a professional food critique but I can easily tell the food quality was superb with great, great taste. Although the place isn't new or fancy, it's great for casual family dine-in and quick takeout. Sometimes it gets really busy on weekends, longer wait than usual but worth the wait :p If you are looking for a place with great food taste, this place is right for you. I'd say sashimi varieties and sushi plates are the best as they are of the freshest quality. Also the place is quite small so not adequate for big party size though. Service is really great, I think the restaurant is run by family and the lady is really kind, always making sure the food is ok, giving lots of smiles, friendly atmosphere.
With great food & service, I have been going to this restaurant for over three years now. I should say I go there twice a week constantly.I love their black dragon roll and spider roll!!! When I went there about few days ago with my two friends, I realized they added new menu such as special rolls and more dinner box. I find it that the sushi tastes best when i dine in, but still take out food is delicious! I ordered chicken teriyaki & sushi dinner bento box and my two friends ordered: beef teriyaki & tempura bento box and my other friend ordered vegetarian dragon roll and chicken teriyaki roll and small avocado salad. Yummmm! The best salad dressing in markham!!!! If you haven't tried their house salad dressing, you must try it out! Soooo good! Anyway, Bento box were served with miso soup, salad, rice, japanese soy beans, california roll and so on. As appetizers, we ordered black dragon roll and spider roll! The lady and the chef always greets me with nice smile. My friends are regular to this place too, and its surprise they know all of our order. Once you become regular, they know what exactly you are going to order! haha.. Love this place!
I was highly recommended to come to this sushi restaurant from my friends. So, I went there with my family on last friday. It was quite small restaurant. (few tables with 3 booths). I ordered chicken teriyaki bento box , and my family ordered sushi & tempura bentobox and some other dinner specials. As appetizer, we ordered dynamite roll and spicy salmon roll. The tastes were really good. I heard so many times that chef makes the salad dressing here and it rocks! My order (chicken teriyaki bentobox served with salad, miso soup, and 3pcs california roll, edamame , and rice). The salad dressing was amazing. The tempura was super! it was nicely battered with hot and crispy. The service was really good. I found that this place is run by family, and they don't speak english that well, but they are really nice which made us feel comfortable to stay and made us wanted to come back definitely! :) I love sushi, so I go to japanese restaurant regularly once or twice a week. Compare to another restaurant, I found this place food price is much good value with great taste! Definitely coming back !
First time at this restaurant. It's a very small family run business. The sushi rolls were tasty & delicious. My guest ordered the Terriyaki Beef with Tempura Bento Box and I ordered the Salmon with Tempura Bento Box. The miso soup tasted like all miso soup (not one of my favourites). Small portion, though - each bowl was filled halfway. The salad was very crisp and I thought their dressing was absolutely amazing. 4 thumbs up for the salad dressing! The salmon I ordered was overdone and had the skin left on. It did not taste fresh. It tasted very fishy. The portion size was small & the 3 pieces of salmon were very thin (about 1cm thick x 7-8 cm in length). The tempura featured 2 shrimps and an assortment of veg. It was good, crispy & oil tasted clean. The side of peas in a pod were inedible. The exterior skins were too tough to chew through. The terriyaki beef was tasty but tough. I don't think there's a Japanese restaurant out there that knows how to cook beef so that it's tender. The 3 pcs of California rolls that came with the meal were good. Side of rice was cooked perfectly. Overall, the food was okay. Disappointed in the salmon and when asked by the server/owner, I told her I didn't think it was fresh. She then had her husband the chef come over to my table to tell me the salmon was fresh and arrived that morning. I just nodded in agreement but seriously, it did not taste fresh and it was overdone. The complimentary sliced orange for dessert was a sweet touch. Oh, and the hot tea was free although I had to order it and then I was only given 1 cup (none for my guest which is unusual...most Japanese places offer this as a given).
its pretty good sushi. The sashimi and a good variety of maki are quite good. Service is excellent and they are always friendly. I also like the fresh ingredients used and i always go back to eat more! ^_^
I usually take out. Small strip-mall restaurant. Not gourmet nor romantic but a great / fantastic neighborhood restaurant. Sushi is well prepared, tastes great. Better that most similar restaurant.
food is always good. Prices reasonable for quality. Never had extra charges for substitutions. Staff is getting to know me and my family and treat us very well. A nice, family restaurant.
I used to be a regular there, however I've always found that they are rude to certian people. They don't speak very much english either. Their food is good however but their portions are too small for the price you pay. Prices can really add up while your left hungry.
Excellent sushi and service. Not an elegant downtown sushi bar, just a family run spot with good service, excellent sushi... great value!
This restaurant doesn't have the best ambiance or decor, but the sushi is good, I haven't been in a while but the menu could use some more options. I stopped going b/c they charges for tea and and they charged extra to substiture miso soup for a salad when the standard is free soup and free tea at pretty much any other restaurant
