New chairs, clutter removed, next is new windows and replace tippy tables.
Overall good value and selection for the money and desserts are always great.
Good homestyle cooking and getting better every visit.
My wife suggested going here as she had great memories of tasty food and fun atmosphere (1995)
However, we did not find too many positives on our recent visit. Food was bland...hamburger seemed pan fried....odd for a "BBQ" joint. Pulled chicked sandwhich had little flavour...gravy saved the day there. Inside decor was dated. It reminded me of my grandmothers living room...full of knick-knacks and plastic flowers. Service was friendly enough. My 2 year old liked the stone staute of the couple with the concrete umbrella.
We will not be going back.
Mom and I fondly remembered Pioneer-B-Q when our family used to go occasionally years ago. But on our recent visit we were sadly disappointed by the food quality, very bland pulled-meat sandwiches followed by gelatinous slices of pie for dessert (dessert sounded better than they tasted). Sadly, we will not return and can only reflect on past fond memories!

My husband and i go to the Pioneer every weekend for dinner,when we know our special server Michelle is working. We love the food and the atmosphere in there.As i understand the pioneer has recently changed hands,but nothing has changed the food is still excellent,if not a liitle more tastier.We enjoy dining there as we always get to have alittle visit with our extremely happy server Michelle.Not only do we get a great dinner but we also get GREAT service with a smile!Keep up the good work at the Pioneer BBQ.
Service was friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was more a kin to a retirement home than a restaurant - it was also stiflingly hot. The food was very boring - pretty sure it was 'out of the package' ribs, and powdered mashed potatoes. Desert was on par with anywhere else... All in all, kind of a boring and depressing dinner. Not worth returning to.
Pioneer BBQ is the best restaurant I have ever been to. Our waitress, Cheryl, who is also a loving daughter/sister to us, was amazing. The food was amazing. I would recommend pioneer bbq to all my friends!
The pioneer barbeque was an amazing restaurant, most likely one of the best home style restauraunts i have been too in a while, i was served by jennifer,. a very friendly and responsible waitress , my diner was hot and fresh and on time , i was looked after very well and i would definately return.
Our waitress, Cheryl, was bright, pleasant and efficient! The atmosphere is wonderful and casual and the portions are perfect. We have been there twice in the past week and will return again soon!

This was not our first visit to the Pioneer,the food and service continued to bring us back , and yes the atmosphere was also very friendly.
Our waitress Michelle was very polite,pleasant and knowledgeable advising us of the specials of the day as well as tips on the main menu and the desserts available. Our experience was a good one and will definitely keep bringing us back. We find that all the staff to be very cheery and helpful at all times.

I have delighfull experiences here, I visit there every Friday night with my husband and we request for our usual server Michelle. I enjoy the atmosphere and the quaint little feeling of eating at home. We love the food and enjoy the friendly service that is provided by our ear to ear grinner Michelle, since our children have all grown and gone we enjoy the conversation and service that is provided to us, she is wonderfull and enjoys her job. We will definately be returning for our usual encounter. As for the people who think they are walking into a 5 star dining facility , think again , unless your home is as clean as Mr.Cleans this is as close to eating at home as you will get.

The portion sizes are great, they do not overfill you, but leave you pleasently full.

My husband and I have been regular customers at this restaurant where we know the food and service are good. Not the last two times though. Our latest experience - food was cold, yorkshire pudding was cold and stodgy, the vegetables were VERY hard and I would have thought loose corn a better choice to serve than corn on the cob! We also did not receive a bun and butter.
Great service, food quick and really tasty. Staff was lovely to the young children and accomodating to special requests. Also has special promo for children near Christmas-very thoughtful. Pies are to die for!!Huge slices! Are going again tomorrow and will continue to frequent.

This was my 3rd visit to this restaurant, and I was a little disappointed. My other 2 visits (1 being just last weekend) were above my expectations --food, service, atmosphere all great, which gave me intention to revisit often in the future. The service on this 3rd visit was not what I expected. Michelle, the server was too busy with another table to attend mine or anyone elses' table ; Was dinner okay? Need more coffee? as examples were of no priority to her. Yet, when my party and myself went to go pay at the door, Michelle literally tripped over us to get to the table to see if there was a gratuity left behind, instead of taking our money right there. I have always been one to be generous with tipping, but not for this server. It's a great restaurant, especially the baked goods, and yes, I would return, hopefully to have one of the good servers from the other experiences.

First time visit in probably 5 years, at one time ate there reguarly. Requested gravy on the side for fries, turkey gravy was what was brought although we were having beef BBQ. The waitress removed my husbands plate and condiments from the table before I was finished my meal. We were asked if we wished desert, but not if I wanted a coffee refill or my husband another beer.
It is rude to remove other persons plate and condiments before both people are totaly finished their meals. The food was hot and tasty, but turkey gravy with beef?
