Finding the perfect pair of jeans for dress down Fridays was always an odyssey for Andrea Malick ― that is until she opened Rivet & Tailor. This jean boutique offers fashion-forward denim for women who appreciate classic styles and timeless lines.
After a career in journalism and education as an overseas science instructor, but before transitioning to the corporate world implementing information technology governance systems, Andrea had dreams of entrepreneurship. “The idea was percolating for some time,” Andrea says of her ambition to carve a niche for herself selling jeans in a non-intimidating environment.
Inspired by the European sense of fashion, which emphasizes core quality pieces that pair with staples that transition from season to season, Andrea’s emphasis on classic styling is even evident in the origin of her store’s name. “I wanted the store’s brand to be reminiscent of an English publishing house. Rivet referred to the jeans, and tailor to the fit,” Andrea explains of how she combined her love of classic styling, literature and admiration for empowered women into her store’s philosophy.
Rivet is the only place I will buy my Jeans from. They hem on site and even though I am hard on my clothes, my jeans purchased here last 5 times longer than a pair bought at a big box store. Awesome customer service and the prices are good too.
