Girl on the Wing is a retail boutique specializing in vintage clothing and nostalgic wares. The shop is a well-curated collection of lovely little things, both new and old, that have been collected over time and from the far corners of the world.
Whitney McMeekin grew up wearing a uniform in school, yet always strived to stand out and be unique. So her sisters started taking her to thrift shops in high school and her love affair with all things vintage began. “I’m a very nostalgic, romantic sort of person. And I think vintage goes along with that,” Whitney says. After studying fashion communication at Ryerson University in Toronto and working in several vintage shops in the city, Whitney moved back to her hometown of Hamilton to open up her very own shop, Girl on the Wing.
