Philos IS the best restaurant, for it's food, in Cornwall! The owners, chefs, and the waiters/waitresses are always so friendly and obliging! They go out of their way to serve you the meal that you want.
I have read all of the reviews on this website because I care about what kind of review is being given to a restaurant that works so hard to please. It would seem to me that you can not please some with a "pleasing machine"!

I recently moved into the area, and every time I have eaten out has been here! I have to eat light before I go because the portions are HUGE! I live by myself and end up taking half the Souvlaki platter home for another meal because it's so much. Pretty sure its homemade tatziki too! The daily specials are great too! Its around $12 for soup,entree,dessert, and a coffee or tea! Great value for great food!
Philo's is probably one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at and ordered from. Anytime I've gone with my family, the tables have always been greasy and dirty (along with the ketchup, salt, pepper, ect), the staff were rude and the food was disgusting. I have had many things at this restaurant, most recently their grilled chicken burger. The last time I checked, I didn't order a Mayo burger with a side of chicken. This is a disgrace of a Greek restaurant. If anybody ever wants to eat REAL Greek food, NEVER go to this restaurant.
My boyfriend often takes me here when we plan a night out! We both take the exact same thing, chicken suvlaki pita platter! The only reason I`m not giving the food a 5 stars is because I am not a big fan of they ceasor salad they offer. Instead, we both get extra rice! I give the service a 5 star because, although we both make changes to our plates, they always give us exactly what we want !
Oh. and may I add, the Tziziki sauce is just amazing! I always treat myself with a little extra ;)
I have been to that restaurant over and over again, almost tried all the menu, they probably have the best menu in Cornwall. Pizza's are amazing and rich in all ways, chicken souvlaki, chicken pitas..mmm so good. Their meat sauce and salad dressing are great. Their food is great and mmm tasty! Now their service is always top notch, very friendly, warm and welcoming staff. Atmosphere is great! All their plates are big and stuffed with food. Prices are very decent and affordable.

Just amazing food. I highly recommend the Chicken Souvlaki platter. Their Greek salad made me become of fan of Greek salads! The potatoes are great.. the rice is awesome. You'll want to order tatsziki sauce on the side (it's has a strong garlic taste.. so good!), and if you're brave an extra brochette.
If you like garlicky Caesar salads, you'll love it too.
Since they renovated a few years back the atmosphere is just very welcoming.
Incredible chicken souvlaki pita with big pieces of chicken and tomatoes, covered in a rich tasty tzatziki sauce. The roasted potatoes are seasoned to perfection and the salad is fresh tasting with a very light dressing. The rice is good although the meal is big enough that I didn't quite make a dent into the rice. Overall a great meal.
Philos is excellent food, excellent service and a very nice atmosphere. They arn't limited to Greek cuisine eihter, they have a menu large enough to include everything but not so large that it takes too long to decide. Overall excellent.

We eat at Philo's about 2 times a month. We love it there. Everyone is always friendly and efficient. Whenever we are in a rush we like to go there. It has a beautiful atmosphere (newly redone) and its just overall great!

Philos could do a tad better with their servers, more visits to tables, and asking how you are doing or if there is anything they can get you, just little stuff like that, otherwise it is an excellent enviroment to enjoy top notch greek cuisine!
We had made reservations for 1:00 pm after our sons graduations. We arrived at about 1:04 PM. There were very few customers at the tables, most likey as it was after the lunch rush. We were sat at an unprepared table, were not given menus and had to wait a lenthy to time to have first our drink orders taken, then our meal orders.
I requested two seperate tabs for the drinks but was told it didn't matter as this was not food orders.
My husband inquired twice about the whereabouts of our lunch orders. About 1:40 and again at 1:50. Finally people who had come in after us were receiving few so at 2:10 I stopped the server again. She said it had suddenly gotten busy & they were not prepared. I pointed out that people were eating already that had come in after us. She was very argumentative & not apologetic or helpful.
When the food arrived the platters were all mixed up. No water fill ups or further drinks were ordered, nor was dessert offered.
We had referred this place to the other trio with us & were very embarresed. It also did not help that we both had long drives ahead of us and had made the serve aware after wating over an hour.
I had gone on many previuos occasions and there has been a continual decline. Last week our office waited over an hour for a lunch delivery which use to take about 20 minutes.
Very dissatisfed. Will not return, nor will the people we took with us.
