Northern Stars Montessori School & Daycare

This is THE go to daycare for your child in Barrie. My son and my daughter both went to this daycare and the staff treat them like their own kids. The high turnover rate of staff as people have mentioned below has improved dramatically since COVID. They qualify for all the government incentive so needless to say they meet all the policies and regulations. My kids are always happy to go to school in the morning that can only mean they are being treated right at school. I've never had any issues.

Our infant daughter attended this daycare for 6 months before we pulled her out. Very high staff turnover and often ratios for teachers to children were not met resulting in write up from ministry among other administrative and report in issues. Review their history with the ministry prior to considering this daycare.

Our experience started off well but things changed late 2017 and into this year. - our child would come home absolutely filthy everyday. No grass outside meant loads of dirt but even face and hands were never clean - there were so many teachers coming and going I would feel always like someone I didnt know was watching my child that day - too many kids to control meant bad behaviour was not being dealt with. Our child picked up such bad habits which have disappeared since changing schools

Amazing loving daycare . Heard about bitter employees who left and trying to sabotage the business. Its really unfortunate however Ive seen the daycare full of happy kids and Im a very happy peaceful mom with how they run the daycare and care for my kids thanks northern stars.

This school is great! The staff is amazing, patient and very supportive. The school is CLEAN and very spacious. My children are very happy here and look forward to going Monday-Friday. The teachers/care givers have had such a great impact on my kids. I’m so glad my kids go here and I can’t say enough good things about them. Northern stars truly goes above and beyond with their children. I definitely recommend this school. Thank you for your service!

Excellent daycare. prior to registering my baby girl, we've explored multiple options in the city, but with the beautiful clean space, the teachers and the, and curriculum me and the hubby both agreed on Northern stars. definitely recommend this daycare.

We pulled our children out the end of November. There were some good teachers, but a lot of turnover and new staff that we were never introduced to. On three occasions our toddler was sent home in the same pull-ups that he went to school wearing. He was soaked in urine and stool by the time he got home. There was a boy in my sons class that was hitting and kicking him and apparently the teachers too. Communication was AWFUL! And despite all this our rates were raised after only four mths $135/da

Not recommended. There were some wonderful teachers there but the staff turnover is outrageous and it stems from poor management and ownership. We had our child attend but had to make new arrangements as things we expected and were promised were not followed through. Hot prepared lunches onsite were part of the contract however the owner replaced menus with cold cut sandwiches multiple times a week. The food is purchased from giant tiger. So cheap. Monthly cheques were never cashed on time.
