The lettuce in my salad was something less than fresh. Our burgers were under cooked and the buns, much like the salad were considerably less than fresh. The service was the worst ever, though there seemed to be lots of staff standing around. We may go back but probably not. There are so many great places to eat in Aurora. We don't think this is one of them.
What a great night! I havent visited this pub in a while but Im glad I did again. Enjoyed a nice dinner with friends with great service and a fun atmosphere. I recognized the same staff from years ago when I last came by and happy to see theyre still there enjoying themselves. All were super helpful and knowledgeable about menu items/drinks. My gf has some food allergies, and they were able to tell us what she should not have etc as well gave us a gluten free menu. Im a big foodie lover (hence the name) and will definitely be back for the food. It was better then most pub fare Ive had. Thanks Filly and Firkin, see you soon
I called to book a reservation seeing how this place is always bumping and I needed to make sure there would be room for us. The girl I spoke with was extra sweet and more then accommodating to our needs! We were sat right away at our table that was already set with menus, and cutlery. The server was prompt, with all our drink orders and told us about their daily specials off by heart. We ordered a few items from a new "munchie" menu and were more then pleased with the time they came out as well how they tasted. I loved the hummus!! Most of the guys had wings, and some of the ladies, salads and wraps. I loved that they give the option of wrapping any of their salads! No complaints at all. The place had a great vibe, and crowd and we will all definitely return. Its great knowing a nice local place to go that feels like home :)
Whoa!! what happened to this place, I moved away and wanted to visit my local from 10 years ago, none of the same customers all the good staff gone, what's with he guys behind the bar??? Used to have the good looking blonde girls??? Must be a new owner without a clue! Maybe she/he needs a good operater ,do ya think???
Way below par! Lots of great restaurants in Aurora but this is not one of them. I could smell the bathrooms as soon as I walked in and I should have walked right back out. The wings were small and undercooked. The pasta sauce was okay but the pasta tasted quite old and I could not eat it. Lots of staff standing around but none of them came to our table until I went and got one of them. I don't expect to be going back.
This place is full of kids that get quite roudy and obnoxious and throw costers around the room. The decor and the atmosphere of this place is run down. It definetly needs to be re-done, and the carpet on the floor taken out (drinks spilled on a carpet=not good). Food is below average, but what else do you expect from a pub?
The food is alright, and the service is ok. There are two tables in the front where you can clearly see into the men's washroom- including guys at the urinals in the mirror of the washroom. It doesn't help that every time the door swings open, it jams and stays that way, so that every so often somebody would have to come by and pull it closed. It also reeks at these tables, especially in the evenings after a day of not being cleaned. The worst part, however, were the two cockroaches we saw. One was climbing up the wall near the bar, the other was actually on the bar. I understand this is an old building, with apartment buildings above it. However, this is a restaurant, as well,and that is the last thing I want to see. It makes me wonder if that's the 'presentable' side of the place, what's going on behind the scenes in the kitchen...
I have been quite a few times. My friends and i go every night on the weekend because it is such a happening place. The nachos i had there was great tasting couldnt complain...but truly the filly is all about having a great time with friends. The atmosphere is great and homey too. I love it!
I walked in with my mom and was greeted with the biggest smile from the bartender, the waitresses and waiters were so friendly, I had great conversations with my mom and with everyone there, it was a very good time.
We were greeted with a smile from what seemed like every employee. The food was brought out in a timely manner and was good overall. A very nice experience
The wings were great! The bartender was a great guy to talk to! Very busy bar!
Have got nothing to say other than the best, so enjoyed everything, from the moment we entered till, the time we left and I so didn’t want to.. WHAT A VIBEY PLACE
We waited for a table so had a drink at the bar. The atmosphere was very upbeat and friendly Our food was delicious but the vegetable Stir-Fry was a little sweet. It had too much teriyaki sauce in it for my taste. I really like the chocolate cake
the wings were okay. the service was not very good. not many people.
We were 17 mates so I don't know who ate what but my chicken pot pie was good. The waitress was accommodating as she gave us individual bills. Sorry about the noise level girls, we are a lively bunch. The bar was busy but we still managed to be back at the office in just over an hour.
met friends to watch the leafs at the philly. place was buzzing. got the hockey specials and enjoyed the game. great wings. GO LEAFS GO!!!
I was extremely impressed with my dining experience at the Filly and Firkin. I have been coming to the Filly for the last four years and I have noticed recently within the last 3 months that there has been a tremendous improvement in the service and in the food. My beer was cold and when my salad came out the chicken was tender and there was extra feta in my salad, just like I ordered. I will definitely be going back!
The service was outstanding! Had a hard time choosing what to order as there was so much to choose from. The food was great!! Cant wait to go back!!
The Canadian was extremely cold with some new Sub Zero tower and my friend tried the Firkin brand beer Butlers which he really liked. The salad and crab cakes were delicious. The waitress who was very attractive recommended the curry and was so happy she did. It was phenomenal! My friend had the burger and said it was so juicy and tasty! Great experience, wonderful and very good looking staff, will definitely return
