The motor we bought was too big for the craft. WWM wanted a 20% restocking fee ($600) claiming that because the warranty was registered, it would have to be resold as used even though the motor had not even touched the water. This claim was completely false, according to the manufacturer. We offered to pay 10% fee, or to exchange for a smaller, more appropriate motor and get a partial refund -- they refused. If only we had shopped around, the other HRM Merc dealers price was almost $400 less.
