This week, in preparation for autumn, and Harvest Thanksgiving, I reread a short story, The Tale of the Hands of God by Rainer Maria Rilke. It is a beautiful anecdote of the encounter of two neighbours, and how one shares the questions that children ask of life, the universe, God, and such. It is beautiful writing that was given to me and Krista upon the birth of our second daughter, Phoebe.In the words and the joy and the emotion of this story, I am reminded of the love and thankfulness that is present in the world.
