I have shopped at this store for many, many years. I like what I call the old lady run - I get to come in at 7. I want to give a big thank you to Nereo. He is always so polite and so sweet. Nereo makes it so wonderful at check out. He is so helpful.
Purchased discounted meat, opened the package and a FLY flew out from behind the discount tag, leaving piles of eggs behind ... not only did someone in the meat dept not notice wrapping up a fly, someone else thought it would best to hide the fly with the discount sticker. Purchased on June 14th, best before was June 16th
going to have a hard time going back
The produce is not as good as the other grocery stores like Fairways and Thrifties, but the employees are very good and the sales on many items beat the other groceries easily. My biggest concern with Save On Foods is the lack of variety and quality in their fish department. Both Thrifties and Fairway have alot of quality, whole fish with good prices, but sadly, Save On Foods offers little variety of whole fish in their store. I'm sure a heck of alot of customers would appreciate it if they did!
Produce is old, stony face bully at customer service desk (mail). Inferior Western Family products. Shelves aren't stacked for Monday morning. Mostly the people are very nice and helpful. The wait time are getting ridiculous on Saturday prime time. I would not recommend them at all. I'd rather go anywhere else.
