Dog Taxi is dedicated to providing Vancouverite urban dogs with a variety of services that include: Dog Daycare, Dog Hotel, Dog Boarding, Dog Sitting, Dog Training, Dog Walking, Dog Transportation, Dog Photography, Dog Food Delivery, Dog Grooming and Dog Teeth Cleaning.
The staff are fantastic - they care about the individual development and care of your dog, and provide you with feedback about how they are doing , and ways you can improve your 'at-home' training. They monitor the dogs and make sure that they are socially interacting and that they are comfortable with each other. I've never used a service like this before so I was unsure of what to expect and I've been overwhelmingly happy with how much my lab enjoys going there. She gets excited when we get ne
After only 1 day of Dog Taxi working on my dog's anxiety and socialization, I see a difference in her. She came home yesterday way more relaxed and wasn't barking at anyone that came over or passed by our house (I was shocked!). I can't wait to see how a few more sessions will affect her! John was very nice. Although my dog is a rescue that is wary of men, my dog liked him. He took the time to put her at ease before driving away with her which I appreciated. Going to DT is adventure 4 my dog!
I didn't get as far as working with dog taxi but i felt like it was important to share my experience. I emailed them to talk about my dog and investigate private training. He's a rescue and could do with a little specialzed help.Other trainers organised calls, or home visits to meet him but dog taxi sent an email suggesting I come in, he could meet dogs and see how he went before we worked out a plan. A pretty typical thing when a new dog joins a trainer or group from what I can see. I got a call to find out why I hadn't responded to the email where they offered to pick him and I up, So I sent an email with my address and questions about the process. I didn't want to be stuck on the other side of town and a quote for how much it would cost me for transport.
I didn't hear back even though I had a read receipt on the email so Saturday morning I sent a txt just confirming that I wanted to cancel just in case he was still going to come. With no response or clarity I was feeling wierd about just getting into a car with him with no more info or cost.
I was shocked at the arrogant, aggressive, and self righteous response and was so grateful if gone with my gut and cancelled. He called me lazy, ungrateful and uncommitted. He didn't want me as a customer anyway.
When I am considering paying hundreds of dollars with you, I really thought there would be more conversation or support. That's why small businesses are so great, but you're not doing me favours.
Suffice to say he then insinuated I was mistreating him when he was giving his time for free (after I'd offered to pay and ask for a quote).
Just so much better people who you can feel safe with and safe leaving your family member with.
