Originally from the West Coast, Treasures Boutique owner Barbara Corder headed to Toronto in the 1980s to pursue a career in finance. The fast-paced and vibrant city appealed to her, but in 2004 she returned home to attend to family matters.
While she determined her next career move her friend Lynda Moore invited Barbara to work at her White Rock clothing store. This appealed to Barbara, as she had always loved fashion. She fondly recalls her teen years when she kept on top of fashion trends by “hanging out with girlfriends and having a sewing bee.” It became second nature to make lined coats and even bathing suits. She says, “We would buy quality fabrics and add cheap and cheerful accessories to our outfits.”
Stylish, fun clothing at affordable prices can be found at Treasures Boutique. Approximately half of the clothing sold is Canadian made. Owner Barbara Corder has a real knack for pairing colourful garments and accessories. She encourages clients to think outside of the box when creating outfits. Treasures’ customers drop in frequently to try on new arrivals and enjoy a social visit in this warm and welcoming boutique.
