Simply put, Madras is a menu item that is spicy, real spicy. If and when an individual is able to complete said dish in-house, they retain the right to immortalize their name on the Shandhar pillar. We refer to these individuals as the Shandhar Elite. (Must be completed with both naan & rice. Just wanted to say I have been bringing my kids , grandkids and friends here 15 years. It is always excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. But today I mostly want to say I love the format and layout of the new menu— it is so much easier to understand— the description of the sauce then the meat choices under it and the hot level. The dark background and white print very easy to read. A nice border all the basics eg address phone a d allergy symbols. Just so easy for the novice .
ok, granted, i think they may be the only place for East Indian in chilliwack. I had heard good things about the place from friends, so we checked them out. The Shandahar Hut it hands down the Best east indian food I have had since moving out of Vancouver. Heck they are better than most of the places i have tried in Vancouver. We tried them mid week for an evening meal. the service was quick, the food perfect, and it wasn't to load or busy. I am truly in love with the veggie pakoras. I can't remember everything we have tried there, but a list of dishes that we have loved: chicken Korma lamb vindiloo veggie and cheese pakoras, all the breads are wonderful Mattar paneer, butter chicken EVERYTHING we have also had the take out and if they are not too busy you can call for delivery.
