Meet the owner

Barry Tough is a long-time professional in the retail jewellery business. Having started in the industry in 1971, it was not until 1982 that Barry opened Adamas Goldsmiths in Southgate Mall. “I enjoyed working with goldsmiths and custom designs,” Barry says. “I went to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology for business administration. After enough experience in the industry, I opened for business.”

As new co-owners, his sons Mike and Steve look forward to continuing the family tradition at Adamas Goldsmiths: “This is a family business,” Barry says. “Mike has been a goldsmith in the store for the past 18 years and Steve is the manager. I’m ready to take a step back and let them take the business to the next level.”
